This is terrible. I've always kind of thought he was silly, but now he's dead and all I can say rest in peace.

Its a weird thing you know. We as Aussies at times cringed at this man who took the Australian hyberbole and made it so very literal with the overkill of Crieky etc....But we all loved and respected the work he did trying to conserve our natural enivronment so we cna have it and appreicate the beauty of it for years to come. He set up conservatories for our animals and started foundations to ensure money goes in the the preservation and protection of our rare native animals.

It is a real sad loss for our country, that we wont have someone who was generally a nice guy, repersenting our country anymore. He died doing what he loved, making us aware of the unique beauty our land has to offer, but its never going to console the loss of a loving father to his young children.

The whole country is just in a surreal shock that someone so young, who lived life to its fullest doing such good and pure work died when there are so many bastards out there who deserve to go instead.
...and somebody spoke and I went into a dream....

Steve Irwin once said, "If something ever happens to me, people are gonna be like 'we knew a croc would get him!'"

This is really sad. I loved Steve, haha. Me and my friends had to make a movie for math class and we did a parody of his show called Dean Hunter. And we did a parody of Godzilla and I had a Steve Irwin action figure and he ended up capturing Godzilla, haha. We got an A+ on that math project. Thanks, Steve.

pretty surreal.

Yeah, they said the last time someone was killed by a stingray in Australia was in 1945. Quite the luck, hm?

This is horrible news. I really enjoyed him when he went on shows like Late Night With Conan O'Brien and the Tonight Show With Jay Leno to show his animals. Jay and Conan always had a great time with him and they loved carrying and feeding all the animals he brought along, and they joked about his accent and his catch prhase "Crikey!" with him. Now, it will never be the same.

He truly lived his life to the fullest. He did things I would never in my whole life dare to do by putting your life at risk with wild animals. Im sure he was a great man who did a whole lot for his country of Australia as a Zoologist.

May he rest in peace.

Wow..Nobody saw this one coming. This is really a huge loss i mean the guy was a great entertainer, whether you like him or not. I didn't watch his show as much as I should have, but I remember liking it when I did..ah this is just so weird. He's dead

RIP Steve Irwin

I loved his shows. May he R.I.P. :grave:

However, it's not quite surprising that something killed him in the end, but I always kinda though that it can't happen to him... ;_;

However, it is surprising that a sting ray took him rather than a crocodile.

It was a huge shock for me. In college everyone was saying, did you hear about the crocodile hunter?
It's really sad, I loved the guy. It was just incredible bad luck for him, the world has lost a great environmentalist
