She's a Texan. Austin I believe. Anywho, I heard McCartney's "Silly Love Songs" on 107.3 JAKE FM. This is kind of off-topic but I love Jake FM. They don't have DJs, just this like, computer voice guy, and sometimes it's like "Okay, heads, we'll play a bunch of songs in a row, tails, we play a bunch of commercials in a row...*coin flip noise*...*cuts to commercials*" Kind of takes the edge off of commercials.

By the way, Erica, what area do you live in? Because I get those exact radio stations!
She's a Texan. Austin I believe. Anywho, I heard McCartney's "Silly Love Songs" on 107.3 JAKE FM.
In our area, Missouri, this station is called Jack FM. Just a brief bit of trivia for some of you. Something like 75% of the radio stations across the nation are now owned and control by only 6 different companies. One company broadcasts the radio program signal from a central point so to speak that reaches relay stations at different points and markets across the country. So the same Jake FM you listen to in Texas is the same Jack FM I listen to in Missouri. Rather like what satellite radio is turning the market into only we do not pay subscriptions. Now to the point on my topic post. On public televison this week, they will be airing a program about The Concert For Bangla Desh a few times. Check your local listing for times but here in Missouri, it airs first on Thursday night, KCPT. And don't forget to mail in your pledge! |

Awesome. My PS2 isn't working, so since I can't watch it on DVD I might as well catch it on TV. |

I have Jack FM. Is yours "Playing What We Want?" Well anyway, we had the digital cable channel Sounds Of The Seasons (441), and "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" came on by The Ventures, the surf-instrumentals group. They played the riff from "I Feel Fine" throughout the song. The must've done that for the whole album because the other day I saw that their version of "Frosty The Snowman" was on, and they played the "Tequila" riff. Now Playing: Opeth - Deliverance |

I received this rechargable/cordless drill-driver radio package for Christmas and quickly started the battery to charge. Several hours later I tested the battery and drill and radio. Without even making any adjustments or tuning the radio to a particular station, when I turned it on, "Strawberry Fields Forever" was the song playing very clearly. Very strange indeed. |

My dad was watching a car auction (Barret-Jackson) and they had a grand piano Lennon used on a bunch of solo stuff that went for $300,000. As well as some other Beatle stuff like a 12-string guitar George used on The White Beatle Album, George Martin's piano he used to compose that was still at Abbey Road, George Martin's last arrangement (for LOVE's "While My Guitar Gently Wheeps") and the car Paul had go around on his tour with a picture of his Hofner on the side that was really cool (and environment friendly!), that I saw when I went to his concert in '05. All the stuff besides Lennon's piano went for really, grossly cheap.. |

I just finished watching one of the two discs sets called "The Beatles Diaries With Alfie Bicknell", driver and assistant to the band. Rather boring and I did not bother watching the second disc. It must be an odd position to some to be able to tell some stories and recollections of such historical value to some without coming off as somewhat pathetic. I did find myself quickly uninterested in his retellings of events even if they were first hand accounts of service to the boys. For most of you I will say pass on this little video set. |
