Wow that is crazy! You must have your albums arranged in a data file that included the year of release. I am quite sure that many will have very short lists but this is an interesting topic. I’ll work on mine and exhibit it next week perhaps after I get my Dell

Ok, but I have warned you all about Wikipedia a few times before. I just looked at three years of music lists on the site and found that no George Harrison albums had been listed. These list on Wikipedia are incomplete and those who are crazy about stupid details will find it useful but not reliable.

Excluding a few country and western records and mere compilation albums of artists of the fifties, for arguments sake, I will start my list with the birth of The Beatles as I have come to know and love their American releases.
1963 – Introducing The Beatles – The Beatles
1964 – Meet The Beatles – The Beatles
1965 – Rubber Soul – The Beatles
1966 – Revolver – The Beatles
1967 – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band – The Beatles
1968 – The Beatles – The Beatles
1969 - Abbey Road – The Beatles
1970 – Let It Be – The Beatles
1971 – Led Zeppelin IV – Led Zeppelin
1972 – Fragile – Yes
1973 – The Dark Side Of The Moon – Pink Floyd
1974 – Bad Company – Bad Company
1975 – Physical Graffiti – Led Zeppelin
1976 – Wings Over America – Wings
1977 – In Color – Cheap Trick
1978 – Heaven Tonight – Cheap Trick
1979 – The Wall – Pink Floyd
1980 – Double Fantasy – John Lennon Yoko Ono
1981 – Freeze Frame – J. Geils Band
1982 – Signals – Rush
1983 – The Final Cut – Pink Floyd
1984 – The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking – Roger Waters
1985 – The Firm – The Firm
1986 – The Rainmakers – The Rainmakers
1987 – Radio K.A.O.S. – Roger Waters
1988 – Lap Of Luxury – Cheap Trick
1989 – Flowers In The Dirt – Paul McCartney
1990 – Facelift – Alice In Chains
1991 – Girlfriend – Matthew Sweet
1992 – Core – Stone Temple Pilots
1993 – Versus – Pearl Jam
1994 – Sixteen Stone – Bush
1995 – Jagged Little Pill – Alanis Morissette
1996 – Anthology 3 – The Beatles
1997 – Be Here Now – Oasis
1998 – Birmingham Road – Jeff Black
1999 – Who Else! – Jeff Beck
2000 – 1 – The Beatles
2001 – The Sinister Urge – Rob Zombie
2002 – Up! – Shania Twain
2003 – In Laws Motion Picture Soundtrack
2004 – So Called Chaos – Alanis Morissette
2005 – Return Of The Champions – Queen with Paul Rodgers
2006 – Pearl Jam – Pearl Jam

Also for arguments sake, I have excluded most compilation and all greatest hits releases or Green Day and Moody Blues would have a few records to post here.
1967 had some great albums; well so did 1964 and 1965 and ‘69. ’64 was probably the hardest choice of the 1960’s for me to distinguish a clear year favorite.
’70 came the next difficult list of cuts with ’73 again in need of a strong drink of whiskey to help me think clearly of a favorite album in this year. The years ’76, ’77, ’78 and ’79 were the easiest to cut and it was at this point I had to go to the liquor store to stock up for the decisions to be made for the ‘80’s.
’81 Foreigner 4, Journey Escape, Duran Duran and J. Geils Band Freeze Frame were tremendous releases as a young lad in 8th or 9th grade. ’83 was again packed full of great releases, difficult choices and drink. ’84 was the year of David Gilmour as he appeared on his solo release About Face and with McCartney on Give My Regards To Broadstreet but in the end Roger Waters wins that battle. (Box of Frogs, Billy Idol and Bruce Springsteen get a shout out. Yeee ah)
’85. Damn you for making me choose The Firm over Jeff Beck. Damn you to hell! ’86. The Rainmakers. Simple choice. ’87. Again Dave versus Roger with A Momentary Lapse of Reason pitted against Radio K.A.O.S. with The Joshua Tree and David Bowie watching in the wings. ’88 was Cheap Trick versus Imagine Soundtrack and The Rainmakers and perhaps Imagine should have won that. I will sober up tomorrow and have a recount. ’90 and ’91; those were shoe-ins. By ’92, I had to move on to the crack pipe and drinking bongwater. The pressures had again surfaced and I could not make these decisions without my friends “addictions”. ’94. You muckety muck muck! Live, Bush, Oasis, Matthew Sweet! Come on! ’96 The Beatles has the edge over Failure. ’99 Jeff Beck was up against a pretty cool movie soundtrack from Amiee Mann and 2002 will get some laughs from some of you as questionable talents of Shania Twain edges out Alanis Morissette. I won’t even bore you with those justifications. 2004 was Gavin DeGraw in a cage match against Alanis an the nex to yeerz wur…. o fuck it. i need 2 ly don now.

I'm surprised that alot of people put Double Fantasy as their favourite from 1980. Only half of the album is good. Face it.

Permanent Waves, The Game, Iron Maiden, Zenyatta Mondatta, and Back In Black are better albums.

It's not my favourite from the year, but throwing Yoko's songs to the side is dumb. "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss" is my favourite song off the album.

My Beatles Trading Post (Updated Regularly)

"George had just come off tour, I'd flown in specially from England, Ringo had flown in specially, too, I think, and John wouldn't show up! He wouldn't come from across the park! George got on the phone, yelled, 'Take those fucking shades off and come over here, you!' John still wouldn't come over. He had a balloon delivered with a sign saying, LISTEN TO THIS BALLOON. It was all quite far out." -Paul McCartney
