Oh, I thought you meant the song in general, written by Harrison.

If I didn't know that after 5 years I'd have to strangle myself.

Last evening on one of those crazy, new give me some money game shows, the question was: "After being lost for more than 30 years, some recently discovered tapes of The Beatles have them singing what song that was a hit for Rod Stewart?"
Well she answered with "If You Think I'm Sexy" which of course was incorrect in so many ways but the show's answer was "Maggie May". This also is incorrect in so many ways. Two different songs; first. The only thing the songs have in common is the title and the "Maggie" character as some of you know. Secondly, Rod wrote and recorded "Maggie May" in 1971, a number of years after what I assume to be the "Get Back/Let It Be" session tapes of 1969 the show was aluding to and about a year after the break-up.
Now I seem to remember some sort of association with the ABC televison network (I think owned by Disney) and The Beatles somehow for some reason but anyway.. you would think that the research department would have not gotten this one wrong
What say you all?

Well I imagine she does as well at this time, however

pssst it's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?". She and you both said "If..." which was her first mistake and that was one of my points the other points were

McCartney Eyes One Last Beatles Song
Wednesday January 3, 2007
By WENN

Sir Paul Mccartney is planning to reunite with his late Beatles bandmate John Lennon and finish an unreleased track the pair sang together.

The Fab Four abandoned Now And Then during their prime. McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr tried to resurrect the track when they put together their Beatles Anthology albums ten years ago, but guitarist Harrison claimed it was not good enough.

But McCartney wants to go back and finish the job.

A source tells newspaper the Daily Express, "It has always niggled a bit with Paul that they didn't finish Now And Then.

"While George wasn't keen, Paul always though the song had a lot of potential. He is now hoping to complete it after all, with him singing the harmonies to John's lead vocal. It would obviously be very moving to hear the pair of them singing together one last time."

McCartney himself recently said of the song, "It needed a bit of reworking but it had a beautiful verse."

Paul McCartney recently shed some light on one of the unfinished mid-'90s Beatles reunion tracks that was left unreleased.

Macca spoke to Britain's Q magazine about the unreleased John Lennon song, titled "Now And Then," explaining that, "There was one more that we didn't do (for The Beatles Anthology), which was a pity. It didn't have a very good title, it needed a bit of reworking, but it had a beautiful verse and it had John singing it. But George (Harrison) didn't wanna do it. The best thing about it all was to work with John again. Hearing him in the headphones, it was like he was in the next room -- '****, I'm singing harmony with John.' It's like an impossible dream."

We asked Harrison's widow Olivia Harrison how she feels about any unfinished Beatles Anthology reunion songs being released: "Well, I don't know that much about it. But I know that if they thought something wasn't good enough then that's probably the reason no one's heard it. You know, if they never got around to it -- sometimes that's it, time runs out."

The then-surviving Beatles, McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, dubbed "The Threetles" by the British press, spent four sessions between February 1994 and March 1995 attempting to flesh out "Now And Then" along with the eventually released reunion songs "Free As A Bird," and "Real Love." The songs were recorded at Macca's home studio, The Mill, in Sussex, England with producer and ELO co-founder Jeff Lynne.

The trio eventually abandoned the track, due in large part to a persistent buzz found on the demo tape that couldn't be erased. Lennon's demo for "Now And Then" -- also known as "I Don't Want To Lose You" -- has been available on the underground circuit for years.

In May 1995, the group allegedly started work an all-new McCartney-Harrison collaboration called "All For Love," which also remains unreleased.

In October 2005, Lennon's widow Yoko Ono talked about a further "electronic" Beatles reunion using the unfinished Lennon track. She explained to The Washington Post that, "I sent those songs to them when the situation was quite different. Now that George is gone, I don't know if the same would apply."

The Beatles' reunion single "Free As A Bird" peaked at Number Six in 1995, with the group's second reunion single "Real Love" topping out at Number 11 in 1996.

I don't think that's good news. It's just going to be another couple million people listening to "Yellow Submarine" on their iPods. Also, didn't they say that they we remastering the albums? They're probably going to do iTunes exclusive "Album Only" bonus tracks that will make all of us mad. I hate that. The only people that will really like them are the ones who bought the albums already. Did you ever see the Chili Peppers' albums in iTunes? Unbelievable.

Apple teases fans with "Lovely Rita" -
but no Beatles on iTunes

RACHEL KONRAD
Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO - Apple Inc.'s consumer electronics are getting better all the time, but the company is apparently getting little help from its friends in England.

Thunderous applause greeted Apple CEO Steve Jobs when he cued up the song "Lovely Rita" from the Beatles' "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" on the company's new iPhone gadget during Tuesday's Macworld Conference & Expo. For weeks, blogs and Web sites had speculated that the Cupertino-based company would be announcing a deal to distribute the Fab Four's music on its iTunes digital music store.

But while iPhone got a standing ovation from Apple fanatics and was warmly greeted by Wall Street, "Lovely Rita" was just a tease.

During his two-hour keynote, Jobs never followed up with an announcement about the Beatles, and their music remains conspicuously absent from iTunes.

Music sites such as Microsoft's MSN and Rhapsody have also serenaded the lads from Liverpool - but their record label, Britain's EMI Group, has rebuffed suitors.

Although Apple was a pioneering peace maker between Silicon Valley and the recording industry, its relationship with the Beatles has been particularly tortured.

The Silicon Valley icon has been embroiled in a long-simmering legal battle with Britain's Apple Corps, guardian of the group's commercial interests.

The two Apples have been exchanging legal salvos for 20 years over their names and fruity logos. The last skirmish came in May, when a British judge ruled that iTunes did not violate a 1991 agreement stipulating that the computer maker could keep doing business if it didn't enter the music business.

An appeal is scheduled for February, and it's unclear how the name change Apple announced Tuesday - from Apple Computer Inc. to Apple Inc. - might affect the case.

Jobs said Tuesday that iTunes has sold more than 2 billion songs, but the only Beatles songs are covers and tributes. For now, the only legal way of getting the band's tunes onto digital music players is to buy a CD and make a digital copy yourself - a process known as "rip and burn."

So Jobs, who's always had a flair for the dramatic, left fans wondering whether a deal had fallen through at the last minute. Instead of hearing Paul McCartney, as some aficionados had predicted, they were treated to a live performance by pop sensation John Mayer.

After the show, Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller refused to answer questions about why Jobs would demo a song not available on iTunes.

"We don't have anything to say about that," he said.

Eddy Cue, Apple's vice president for iTunes, was equally opaque.

"Anyone can rip their own CD," Cue said. "Steve's a huge Beatles fan - huge. He rips and burns."

Deal for Beatles on iTunes in works

Apple planning Super Bowl Beatles ad?
Wed, January 17, 2007
By TERRY OTT, SPECIAL TO THE TORONTO SUN

The worldwide Beatles grapevine is buzzing over the distinct possibility that the long-awaited remastering of the Fab Four's United Kingdom CD back catalogue will finally see the light of day -- by June.

As per usual, Apple/EMI is presently mum, but sources with knowledge of the project say that two scenarios are possible for the release of the minimum 11 UK albums.

What's more, the long, heated court feud between the Beatles' Apple Corp. and Apple Computers over naming rights might finally have been resolved. The belief is that Beatles songs at long last will be available for downloading from Apple Computers' iTunes, as soon as next month.

As for the remasters, when CD versions of the Beatles' UK albums were first released some 20 years ago, they came out chronologically over a year, from their first LP, Please Please Me, to their final offering, Let It Be.

Sources say if a chronological release occurs this time, the timeframe would be much quicker, from March to June of this year.

The second strong possibility is that the entire state-of-the art, 24-bit remastered UK catalogue will hit stores the first week of June, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of what many call the Fabs' finest hour -- the release of their ground-breaking Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

SPECIAL DEAL FOR PEPPER

Although there is a chance that Sgt. P will be given a special treatment -- in a box set, with both stereo and rare mono mixes -- little is being said about any extras for the other catalogue albums, other than that a compilation CD might be made available.

Even though EMI had a strong outing with the LOVE soundtrack in 5.1 Surround Sound last year, there's no word on whether any of the new UK remasters will have any multichannel content, which is highly coveted by die-hard fans and audiophiles.

As for the Apple vs. Apple battle, the buzz is that two companies apparently will finally collaborate on Beatles music -- for an exclusive three-month, restricted deal allowing Apple Computers' popular iTunes to offer downloaded, remastered Beatles songs, perhaps even before the CDs are made available.

Apple Computers plans a "special" announcement scheduled for a Super Bowl commercial on Feb. 4, which may give more indication as to where the new remastered CDs will debut first.

"I'm amazed at the possible Apple/Apple alliance," said Steve Marinucci, who runs the award-winning Abbey Rd website. "The Beatles can still surprise us after all these years."
