I think its so terrible and funny how some (notice I say SOME!) Christain leaders and priests are very Hippocritical towards SIN. There is no measure between one sin and another sin. It's still a sin. So how can somebody come out and say that being gay or getting AIDS is the worst sin and that they don't deserve to be recognized by their church. Meanwhile, they have hookers, cheaters, criminials, liars, and such, in their church. But somehow, being gay or getting AIDS is worse. Its just pathetic. |

lol, the word is hypocritical, it has nothing to do with Hippopotami. You know what else is hypocritical? American government says that the United States is a christian society. Know, while the majoritiy of its residents are christian/have christian background, it was founded as a secular state. It even says so in the constitution. |

Organized religion isn't a bad thing, really. And as far as the whole gay thing... here's something I hate. People who protest against gay marriage use that damn shallow slogan 'Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve'. Well guess what? America isn't governed by the Bible. Or any other religious book for that matter. Separation of church and state. Real Americans know that everyone has the right to be married.

America used to be govererned by the Bible. In fact, the whole nation was founded on its principles. The founders also believed in freedom of religion. That's why they fled England. The king was forcing them to worship a certain way. When this country was founded, they combined the principles of the Bible with freedom of religion and other personal rights. And guess what? Our country prospered. We grew and grew and became one of the most powerful nations in the world. Queen Elizabeth of England ruled her county based on it the Bible. And guess what? England prospered. It also became one of the most powerful nations in the world. In fact, our Supreme Court bases its principles on the Ten Commandments. But what happened when people decided that it was idiotic to follow what they thought was just a dumb book? Our country started sliding. More people turned away from it. Now our country is slipping and sliding toward collapse. This is exactly what happens with Communist countries. Atheism is promoted while any form of religion is shunned. Because they have nothing to guide them, their countries go straight to ruin. And that brings me back to the first point I made. I do think that many Christians are hypocrites. They say that nobody will be turned away from their church or whatever, but they treat gay people as if they were a deadly virus. I don't belive in gay marriage, but I think gay people should be allowed to at least go a Christian church. I think there are sins worse than being gay. For example, lets' say a gay man becomes a Catholic priest and sticks to his vow of celibacy. But another man becomes a preist and molests children. What do you think is worse? Another hypocritical thing they do is say that we should refuse AIDS aid to Africa because they say it came about as a result of sodomy and they brought it on themselves. Are you going to tell that to a poor five-year-old kid in Africa who is dying of AIDS and that it's his parents' fault? And then deny any form of aid to him? No! Of course you wouldn't. Neither would I! I think it's insane that people do that. Anyway, that's my rant. |

Actually it was based more on Mason ideas. Many of our founding fathers were Masons who knew the importance of freedom of religion. |

Yeah, I know they did. That's why the all fled England. The king was forcing them to worship a certian way. They based the country on the principles of the Bible, and they made this country so you could worship freely. That's what made us great. |

america was founded on the basis that EVERYONE is created equal, even tho its taking us a while to fallow that thru fully, thats what we were founded on. ITS RIGHT IN ONE OF MOST VALUED DOCUMENTS!!!!! How can any REAL american say that black are inferior, or that hispanics are inferior or that gays are inferior or wemon are inferior. ture americans are the crazy hippies, im sorry to shock, well really im not, those of you who may be against 'hippies'. the fact is america was suppoesd to be a place where anyone can belive what tehy want with out being 'punished' and mocked. everyone is equall, i mean come on, the founding father were pot heads, george grew the shit! they were hippies man!! |
