I picked single because on a double, you've got more filler tracks that really just water the album down. On a single album, a few songs can make the entire album really good. As for a double, 3 or 4 really strong songs can't override 20 something filler tracks. Also, single albums hold your attention for just the right amount of time. You may get lost in and bored in the middle of a double album more easily than you would in a single.

Double albums pwn single ones for all the reasons Eric said and more.

Electric Ladyland was a double album as well. =o

Meh, disagree with only four songs being good on a double album...mot of them AREN'T filler. o.o

Voting whether a single or double album surpasses the other is purely superficial and based on opinion, for the sole fact that it is an artistic choice based on the musician or musicians. If they feel they need to make a double album to accomodate their artistic views, then so it shall be, and likewise for a single album. I really don't understand the point of this poll, but eh. It's like preparing to choose which Who album to listen to and then go "I'M GOING TO LISTEN TO QUADROPHENIA BECAUSE IT IS DUBUL, WHICH INSTANTLY MAKZ IT GR8 LMAO."

Sometimes single albums have their share of filler material as well. Not to spark a completely different topic, but sometimes I can't shake off the feeling that "Do It" from the Soft Parade is a bit weak in comparison to the others to the point of being filler material.

Eric, that "proof" that double albums are better (your list) can be made just as easily with a list of better single albums.

I like single albums because:

1. You can't lose half of a single album
2. Easier to digest and handle
3. Some double albums are severely overpriced

But, in all seriousness, does it matter that much? It's still an album. It has songs on it. You listen to them. You like it.

Which is what I said, in a sense.

"Do It" from the soft parade

PAUL GRAMMAR FAIL.

I personally listen to a lot more single albums. Double albums can get, in a way, boring, after an hour and 45 minutes of the same artist. Some people love that, me, an hour or less is good, then I move on. Really, some of my favorite albums are double albums (The Beatles, Quadrophenia, The Wall), but I don't listen to them much. But everyone their own.

I know that's why in the subtitle, i said WHICH DO YOU PREFER with PREFER being the keyword.

I was just curious what people thought. I kinda regret even making this topic =\

Jeff, it wasn't PROOF of anything. That's why I PREFER double albums, those are some examples. KEY WORD BEING THE FUCKING WORD PREFER P-R-E-F-E-R

I actually wasn't directing that comment to YOU, specifically, haha. I was talking in a general sense, no need to get so pissy with me.

What I was trying to say is that I don't prefer either. I enjoy them both, it's from a purely artistic standpoint.

Thanks Eric. I was wondering how to spell "prefer". By the way, what's a "fucking" word?

What I said was that it doesn't matter. It's still an album with songs on it. I'm just saying, but what kind of question is that? How can you prefer a kind of album because a few good albums are like that? Nevermind.

I don't understand either. Would The Beatles' "Abbey Road" really be any different or better if you broke it up into two discs? I don't get why the amount of discs matters?

I'm sorry, but that comment was rather stupid.

That's not the issue! Way to miss the whole point! The issue is that it has more material, and isn't more better? Especially from a band like the Beatles? It isn't the amount of discs, it's the material.

I agree. I'd like to add that a crappy double album won't be as good as a stellar single album.
