I know I'm not a very good writer, so just bare with me: Why I love the Beatles…again Well, for those of you that missed my first “Why I Love the Beatles” in the Nowhere Land news letter, fear not, because I’m going to attempt to explain why I love the Beatles so much, without stating something that’s been stated 100 billion times already. The reason I love the Beatles, plain and simple is because their music has had the greatest impact on my life. There’s a Beatles song for pretty much every emotion/mood any person is going through. They’re a band, no matter what my mood, I can put on one of their record, and just become encapsulated in the energy, the magic of the record I’m listening to. And with that, I never manage to get sick of them, because every time I put on one of their records, I realize just how perfectly they all complimented each other as a unit, and how on each song, each Beatle brings something creative or unique to the table, adding something small that you pick up every time, be it a great melody, a funny mistake, distorted vocals, great backing vocals, there’s something different in every single song, that keeps me drawn to them. They’re the perfect band, backed by the single most talented songwriting team of the last 50 years. It’s just so amazing how well John and Paul could compliment each other. I know it’s been said 100 billion times, but really, John and Paul’s were perfect for one another, and they wrote some of the most creative tunes of the decade. Not to mention George, and Ringo who weren’t the technically best musicians, but they could play their respective instruments, and each of them have their shining moments throughout the Beatles’ careers, George with guitarplaying and songwriting, Ringo with vocals and drumming. They were really something special, not just to me, but obviously to the millions of people that still listen to them. They’re not only a versatile band, but they’re also very creative, exploding with excitement, and each song offers something different than the next. They’ve lasted this long, and I have no doubt that future generations will discover the magic of the Beatles’ music and pass it down. It’s been about four years since I got my first glimpse into the Beatles with 1, which I still feel is a great compilation to introduce a casual fan to the Beatles. While it doesn’t have a lot of their greatest songs, it’s a nice way to introduce a new listener. To this day, I still listen to the Beatles, and you know why? As I’ve broadened my horizons, and listened to a bunch of different bands, I always keep coming back to the Beatles, always. I can’t go a few days, let alone a week without hearing one of their albums, or compilations, because they’re pretty much the band that was a gateway for me into classic rock, but the first band I felt an actual connection with. They’re a band where I could relate to the lyrics, and the music, and a band that to me will never ever be topped. I fucking love the Beatles, and I may be an obsessed crazy fan, but the Beatles literally changed my life, and for that, they hold a lot of sentimental value. I wrote that because i was thinking about it. Feel free to criticise, tear apart, or whatever you wish to with it |

Beatles are great, but Floyd is better! But seriously Floyd wouldn't have come over if it wasn't for the Fab Four

I feel that your favourite band should be a band who's music you deeply enjoy, and that you can listen to nearly all the time, whatever the situation, and still enjoy. It should also be a band who's music you can almost relate too, and who's music can cheer you up if your upset or something like that. |
![]() “My technique is laughable at times. I have developed a style of my own, I suppose, which creeps around. I don't have to have too much technique for it. I've developed the parts of my technique that are useful to me. I'll never be a very fast guitar player. I don't really know what to say about my style. There's always a melodic intent in there.”-Dave Gilmour. | |

As if he's never seen one b4.

*In no exact order* Do they write any of their own stuff? How well written are the lyrics? How well written is the music? How well do the voices sound in harmonies? What are the songs mostly about? Do they seem to enjoy what they do? Are they themselves or are they how the record label wants them to be? Are they any good? i think thats about it. |
