I'm one of the few people it seems who can stand, and even enjoy, modern mainstream music.

Define mainstream.

Avril Lavigne, The Killers, American Idiot. D=

The Killers are not as bad as everyone says. They're actually one of the better "indie" retro bands. I don't understand why indie fags despise Killers and praise bands like Bloc Party and Interpol so much.

American Idiot isn't bad either.

I don't listen to Avril Lavigne anymore, but when I was 13, I used to be obsessed with Let Go.

Mainstream music doesn't equal bad music, since most of modern bands I listen to can be classified as mainstream nowadays.

Yea I agree that the Killers aren't bad. I dont consider them very good though, either. Their singles are good and catchy, but I don't think their albums hold up so well.

My musical obsessions, I like listening for little delays and differences between things that are like double tracked or layered what ever. Like the guitar solo on money how you can hear the two guitars hitting almost every note the same but with a few differences and the same with vocals...

My odd musical obession, three word's :David Gilmour's arms

You posted that on my seventeenth birthday.

My eighteenth is coming up in exactly one week!

Sometimes I must strongly resist the urges to make friends, any friend a few mixed music discs. Some of them are not appreciated by a few of my friends but I continue to make them more from time to time.
I guess I am just often obsessed with wanting them to be able to listen to discs with songs they like and of course songs that they have not heard before created by me.

Whenever I put a new album into iTunes, I always delete the bonus tracks from my iTunes library, but keep the files in case I want to listen to them sometime.

I just did that to my iPod yesterday. I still have them backed up though.

So you don't have the Psychotron Demo on Countdown To Extinction?

Actually, I do. I only did it to the Queen remixes at the end, and the first two Elvis Costello albums. I didn't really look for them. If I find bonus tracks later, I'll delete them. I'll check out this demo now.

When I was much younger, I would often tape record special Beatles programs when they were broadcast on the radio. You know like Beatles A - Z weekends and stuff like that.
One that I was particularly fond of was called "The Beatles - The Days Of Their Lives". I hung on to that taoe still today and although I no longer listen to it, for the longest time it was my only source for "How Do You Do It".
Well because of that tape, everytime I hear Lennon's "Instant Karma" I immediately think "Yer Blues" should follow. On the tape, "Yer Blues" crossfades right after "Instant Karma" is fading out. So it goes, ..."well we all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun. Yeah we all shine on--two, three Yes I'm lonely! Wanna die!"
