I truely wanna know what you all think of the country NOW.
Not what it was like 20 years ago, or 2 years ago.
I wanna know how well you think it is going now (2005-2006).
I think it could use improvements. Ya'll who know me know im not the biggest patriet out there, but it is defenently better to live here then in some other places. I really do think that the rich are just getting richer, and that the whole country is run by corporations.
I dont think that americans have as much say in what goes on as we once had. It used to be that america was "For the people by the people", now it seems as tho its "for the rich, by the rich", and i dont see it changing in the near future.

I would like to hear YOUR honest to (which ever) God (you belive in) truth!

I think you're being naive. Why do you think governments exist in the first place? So they can get richer. You never had a say in what goes on. Plus US was a teritory for those who wanted land, ever since Columbo. The Europeans who couldn't survive in Europe cause they were undereducated went to US. Look at your history-very violent. All those wars between the British and the French, Wlid West, Civil war, US is still the Wild West. You have unbelievable crime rates. In fact, the whole country is a crime. the incomers commited a genocide over the Indians, so they can get land, resulting in Indiand ending up in reservates.

OK, i never said that we were perfect.
I know what we did to the Native americans, They are not indians, i should know, because i am native american, WOO Cherokee, columbas called them indians cuz he thought he was in India.

Most countries have had a civil war, at least ours brought freadom to a race.

In the begining of Our courntries history, it was suposed to be that all men, and wemon, were created equal. You could come here and practice any religion you want. Now the whole country is run by christians.

True, the counrty was started because of the wanting of land, and gold, and all that. But later it became a place that you could bring your family and live a good life with out the fear of some one just randomly barging into your home and killnig all of your family.
It was suposed to be a place for thoughs who had hope, for thoes who wanted to be free, for anyone with a dream, now its just for thoes who have money, for thoes who are greedy, for thoes who want to express there opinion, but not listen to anyone elses.
Americans have the freedom of speach, but has anyone noticed that americans are the first to jump down someones throught for expressing their mind or saying what they truly belive?

America used to be a good place to live, now its shit.

America used to be a good place to live, now its shit.

in what time are you refering to america as a good place?

The time where black people were whipped and forced to do manual labor?

The time when women were forced to be housewifes who couldn't vote?

The time when corrupt politicians ruled the goverment? And no I don't mean recent years although it fits here too. I mean the years between 1800's and now.

Truth is we have always been and always will be corrupt. And I don't mean we as in america. I mean the human race. The thing about america is that we are moving FOWARD instead of moving backward. In the last few years we have been repeating mistakes. But overall we have been doing fine. And like always there is room for imporvement. There always will be. And we aren't the only ones working for these goals. Lots of countries are. Welcome to the Neo-Renaissance.

Compared to a lot of places, America's still great. However, that does not mean there's no room for improvement. There are still a lot of parts in the government that the people can't touch, but if the people actually mobilized, just smart voting could fix everything.

The problem isn't the system but the people.

I don't think it was ever a good place to live. Even with the first incomers, everyone wanted land, or any other form of matter, for him self. Everyone wanted the whole continent, if he could have it. It's just a struggle to get richer since day one.

That could just come off as sounding very jealous.

George got on the phone, yelled, 'Take those fucking shades off and come over here, you!' John still wouldn't come over. He had a balloon delivered with a sign saying, LISTEN TO THIS BALLOON. It was all quite far out." -Paul McCartney

Hey, wait a minute! If it's my bitching yesterday, and you have a pick on me, that's not very smart. I apologised to you. I had a bad day yesterday. Once again I'm sorry!

Uh.....it's got nothing to do with anything else. I just think it can easily be construed as jealousy, or one-sidedness. "the whole country is a crime"? Come on, there can't be any intelligent debate with a comment like that. "You have unbelievable crime rates"....put that in context....give me some numbers (not just an arbitrary, generalized statement) and then I might be able to take that seriously.
