Fidel Castro, mainly due to the number of failed assassination attempts.

I used to be a communist until my parents took me on holiday to Cuba. It completely changed my view of things. We spoke to some of the locals there and most of them hate Castro but are living in fear. It kind of sucked and it put me off.

Well that doesn't mean you cant be a communist. If you follow what Marx wrote then its all good. But alot of people corrupt it, even democracy is corrupt.

Ah, but Cuba is run by an oppressive, buearucratic, state capitalist regime. They may have plenty of pretty pictures of Marx and shoot rhetoric like a gun, but they are miles away from Communism.

This is true!!!
They all claim they are communist but in reality they are more totalitarian meets capitalism meets star wars.

But that's kind of the whole problem. Communism only ever works on paper. I've read a lot of Marx, as well as Lenin and Trotsky, and I think the idealism behind it all is great. But whenever anyone tries to put it into practice it never works, and I don't think it ever will. That's kind of why I gave up on it all.
