NOOOOOO B!
|
I just got the Bee Gees: Their Greatest Hits: The Record album and I love it. I noticed that nobody really talks about them here, but they're really a fantastic group. They were stereotyped with creating disco, but hey their disco music isn't all that bad.
B) Their early stuff is amazing, and they have beautiful productions and harmonies. ("I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Lonely Days", etc.) They're a great group, give them a chance. *Does "Stayin' Alive", John Travolta Dance*

Love Will Tear Us Apart, Again

Bleh. Disoc started a whole new generation of pop muisc. No longer was something popular because people thought it was good; but it was popular because because if you didn't like it you were "out of touch." Frankly, IK don't like The Bee Gee's. |

The Bee Gee's are good. I like them. I really like the songs 'Stayin' Alive', 'Night Fever', and 'More Than A Woman'. And another great song from The Bee Gee's 1 CD is 'I Started A Joke'. |

My omly reason for disliking themis quite petty. But on a long road trip my friend only bought one cd, which was in the wrong case. Instead of the Stones we had the Bee Gees for 14 hours and by the end of it i wasnted blood |

THE JANITOR
|
My mother got me interested in the Brothers Gibbs way back when; before disco hit and made quite a mess of music. So "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Lonely Days", "Words" and nearly every song on their 1969 Atlantic Records release "Best of Bee Gees" is engrained in my soul of music. That was the record we had around the house when I was young. I think a lot of Electric Light Orchestra's vocals are very similar to The Bee Gees; Jeff and the boys just added the violins and brass of course. It seems that on two separate ocassions last week, I heard a somewhat updated version of someone singing "To Love Somebody". One was on "Veronica Mars" and the other must have been on "Grey's Anatomy". Anywho-I do much prefer their very early songs to the disco products, but that stuff is not all bad. |

Love is all you need

their early stuff is really great. The later disco stuff is good when you want to have some mindless dancing fun |

Liar! You're with him! You brought him here to kill me!
|
The Bee Gees didn't create Disco, they just popularized it. They are a good band though and I love most of the material they have put out. Now if we could only forget their horrible "Sgt. Pepper" movie... |

Eric Clapton + the brothers Gibb = The Bunburys (1987) Just to further annoy but I promise this will be the last reference. Well probably the last reference unless I am provoked of course. Still looking for something specific, though. Now listening to "Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride)" - Don Felder with a little help from a few Eagles friends |

All I have as of now is the Saturday Night Fever original soundtrack, which is great if only for the nostalgia/different time period it evokes. There's some really wonderful music on there. Hoping to get more of their stuff soon, though. |
