Though all the hype, I have never really listened to the Artic Monkeys. This song was pretty good. I can see why they are famous, but I have heard claims about them being the next Beatles. I don't think so, but a decent song nonetheless. 8.5/10 The next song is done by a band called the Unicorns. They only released one album called "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?" and then they broke up. It makes me sad because this album was really good. Here is a song off that album- Tuff Ghost- The Unicorns |

Sorry ha, I listened to it. Not my type of thing usually. Cool bass, but the keyboards iffed me a bit. Interesting vocal style, but I didn't life the lyrics very much. 6/10 "Bob Dylan Blues" - Syd Barret |

YES!!! That song fucking ruled!!! Syd Barrett singing about how kick-ass Dylan is....how could it get anyless than 11/10. I may be a bit biased, because I myself have " the Bob Dylan Blues" but you know I just couldn't care less. Related to Bob Dylan, the next guy has been dubbed the next "Bob Dylan" due to his lyrics. I am not sure if he lives up to that huge claim but he is pretty good. His name is Conor Oberst, and he is in the band Bright Eyes. Here is a song. Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh- Bright Eyes |

I liked this song. Good lyrics, liked the clavi and country-like guitar bends that accompanied it. Guy's voice was ok, not bad or good really, but it had emotion which I liked. 8/10 "Court And Spark" - Joni Mitchell |

This song was OK. Something about it just didn't click with me though. Her voice is nice though, very soothing. 7/10 Some more Indie music Lion's Teeth- The Mountain Goats |

Don't wanna be a party pooper, but this sounds like illegal file sharing. But I'll take part. Hehe.
I hope people are doing this thing right. I hope it's not like the avatar thread where people just give everything a 7/10 or higher. People need to realize that 5/10 is average! 4=slighty below average, 6=slightly above average, 10=the best (up there with your favorite songs), 1=the worst (down with your least favorite songs). Okay, the riff is mediocre. What instrument is that in the back? Some sort of strings. The riff is overdone now that I think about it. I just don't really like it. Sorry, 4/10. Here's my first song. I'd rate the song I posted about a 4 or 5 outta 10. Here it goes: Johnny Cash's "Joe Bean" |

Thanks nirvangela, for participating. I don't like to think of it as "illegal file sharing" per se. I like to think of it as "borrowing from a friend".
>_> Also, you don't have to be sorry. That's what the thread is for. I don't think anybody should be getting affended from a song rating. I'm not really into the whole "Tell a little tale with a little guitar in the back"-type songs. I guess it just isn't my style of music. I'm sure it's a good song for people who enjoy that music on a regular basis, but I wasn't digging it all. I'll rate it 4/10. Here is a Judas Priest song from their 1978 album, Stained Class, called "Beyond the Realms of Death". Please don't let names intimidate you. (It's a really big file, about twice normal size, but my uncle gave me alot of Judas Priest a while back.)Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death Now Playing: Judas Priest - Victim of Changes |

Not what I expected. I like the acoustic guitar work. It appears that Rob Halford can hit some pretty high and impressive notes with those lungs of his. The riff during the chorus is mediocre. Typical guitar solo (the first one), but I must say I like that bend that ends the solo and brings it all back to another slow and steady verse. The second solo is much better, it sounds like two guitars? The song finishes kind of abrubtly. This kind of music really isn't my bag, but it was typical. I'd have to say about a 5 (maybe pushin' a 6) outta 10. Okay, I think I'll leave an interesting cover tune here. Jimi Hendrix's take on The Beatles' "Day Tripper" Sorry, I think the track ends early. |

I've been meaning to revive it with a new song to post. So, here is one. In 2004, Rush made an EP, with eight covers of songs they loved growing up, called Feedback. I have posted "Crossroads" from this album earlier in this thread, and here is a cover of the Who's "The Seeker" from the same album. Rush - "The Seeker" |

Apparently, nobody listened to "The Seeker" by Rush. That's your loss. New song. Here's a song from Alice In Chains' 1992 album, Dirt, called "Rain When I Die". The whole album is great, in my opinion, and I really like this song. Hopefully, it's the same for you. Alice In Chains - "Rain When I Die" |

I just heard the song, and I gotta say it's not that bad. Here's my song. It's callled 'The Viking' and it's by Lars Frederiksen & The Bastards. My friend introduced me to it and I fell in love with it. My friend says it's a Punk song, but me and Mike think it sounds more like an Alternative song. Either way, it's a good song, and the lyrics are great as well. Lars Frederiksen & The Bastards - The Viking By the way, does it matter what type of song we put here? Cus if people will actaully take the time to listen to a song like I did, regardless of what type of song it is, then maybe I'll post some stuff that isn't just Rock. I might put some Jazz, Country, Dance/Techno, and even Rap. |

The whole point of this thread is to expand the horizons of music for eachother. So yes, post whatever the fuck you want. In fact I'll post a Rap song to mix things up a bit. Cool song. Real laid back pace with interesting lyrics about this dude with Danish Descent's life. I liked it. 7/10 with 5 being an average. And now, a rap song that will probably be bashed due to the hate of rap by people on this board. But oh well. It is by an albino black man called Brother Ali, adn the song is called Forest Whitiker. I have a new favorite rap song thanks to FlamingPieMan. Great song, man. I have to give it a 9/10 just because I would have loved it if it were longer since it's such a great song.
Ok. Well here's a song I am completely in love with. It's called 'My One And Only Love'. This version is a Jazz version of John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman. It begins with John Coltrane playing the melody with his Sax (I think it's a sax). He plays with it throughout two verses, the bridge, and another verse before Johnny Hartman begins to sing. His voice adds to the mood and feeling of the song and gives it a very tender touch. Hope you like it! John Coltrane (Ft. Johnny Hartman) - My One And Only Love |
