Two weeks. Damn. YouSendIt is stupid now. You have to enter an e-mail address, and it's only 10 downloads instead of 25. It's still one week, though.

I'm going to try something else this time. Here is the Mystery Song by the Mystery Artist. I think by telling what song/artist or whatever, it influences the person in liking/disliking it, and it gives a fair judgement on the song. Good idea? If you like the song and are interested in it or you just want to know what song it is, then I'll tell you afterwards.

Mystery Artist - Mystery Song

EDIT: I didn't know when you click the song, it says the song title anyway. Man. I thought my idea was good. Quick! When you open the song, don't look! Anyway, enjoy the "mystery" song.

Good idea. I liked this song. Lyrics were pretty good although a little stale, guitar was excellant, bass was good, drumming was kinda boring. Not what I would expect from a metal band. That wasn't even that heavy. 8/10

The song was "Credence" by Opeth if my lyric searches were correct.

What's this mystery song? try it out for yourself!

Good song. Sounds like a Kinks or early Stones type song with some Dylan-like vocals. Although, not outstanding with solos and phenomenal instuments, this song was still likeable. 7/10 What song was it? (When you opened "Credence", did it say it on RealPlayer? Or did it say "Mystery Artist - Mystery Song"?)

Here's a song by Nevermore that I like called "Believe In Nothing". I'll do the Mystery Songs next time, but right now, I'm in a hurry.

This song was ok. The eletric guitar kinda irked me at bit at parts. Solo was cool though. Vocals shifted between good and bad. Lyrics were't terrible, but nothing special either. 6.5-7/10

Here's a David Bowie tune:

I've got "Rise and Fall..." but this song is really good. It starts out with the vocals and guitar, real mellow, then builds up afterwards with the drums, and then has the "Grand Finale" of sorts with the anthem-ish David Bowie vocals. When I say "David Bowie vocals", I mean his signature shouting. 9/10. If we know/have the song already, should we still rate it?

This next song needs no backround paragraph.

That mystery song I sent you was There She Goes Again by The Velvet Underground.

I liked this song. All the instruments were well preformed, and the vocals weren't half bad. Lyrics were good too. I always stayed away from Iron Maiden despite their popularity, though I won't now. 8.5/10

Here's some Bruce Sprignsteen for ya.

Thanks for that Zach (its zach right?), the Springsteing song was different to what i expected it to be, having only heard hard rock stuff like Born In The USA prior to it. The piano was nice, with the intro working very well, and the instrumentation was good, with the horns coming in later. It was a nice chord progression, especially in the bridge section (i think it was the bridge) and the vocals were quite good for a man whos voice i dont really like. Solid. 8.5/10

Im gonna post a Wolfmother song up here, ive been raving about them but i dont think any of you have heard any of their stuff. They are the first real rock band ive heard for a long long time, their lead singer is similar to Robert Plant in style. The drumming is really good and the guitarist play some really interesting stuff. This ones called White Unicorn

Interesting song. I lieke the singer and the guitarist. Lyrics were nice too. The backing bass and drums weren't bad either. That middle section was sexy. Reminded me of the one in "Whole Lotta Love." 8.5/10

Here's another Velvet Underground track:

Heroin - The Velvet Underground (and Nico)

Despite the lack of chord changes that goes on in the 7 or so minutes of the song, the lyrics are powerful ('heroin, its my wife, its my life') and i like how it speeds up as it increases in intensity. The weird guitar distortion freak out is kinda strange, but it adds to the intensity build up, despite the fact that it drowns out the vocals. Very interesting, the first V U track ive heard, i want to get the much acclaimed Velvet Underground and Nico now. 9/10

I'm gonna post another Wolfmother song (it'll be my last one for a while, honest). This ones called Where Eagles Have Been

This was another cool tune. I liked the bass and accoustic guitar. The vocals were great again and the guitar was the shit. I like the mystic lyrics too. 8.5/10

Jail Guitar Doors was a good rocker, but nothing too special. The drums were good and it was your average three chord progression with some average lyrics. But it was played with energy, which is good. 8/10

Time for a bit of Steely Dan, one of my favourite bands. This ones called Do It Again of their brilliant Can't Buy A Thrill. They can all play their instruments like demons, check out the guitar solo, its not your average blues scale guitar solo (i believe its in dorian mode :glee:) brilliant.

Enjoy

Haha who hasnt heard THAT song :P 9.5/10 (it still owns)

I'll post up another 'lesser known' Steely Dan song. It's called Fire In The Hole, very jazzy and the piano is brilliant throughout (especially the intro and the solo).

Chodus- Whenever I hear Steely Dan, I always enjoy them, but alas, I don't have much of their music. This was a pretty sweet song with a kick-ass groove to it. 9/10

Here is some is some music form a group of guys who live in Oklahoma, and just do acid and make music. The Flaming Lips.
