Portrait (He Knew) - I've never heard Kansas besides Dust in the Wind, but I like this song. Cool prog rock laden with synths but also loaded with heavy guitars.

Anytime You Want Me - I've heard this, but once I did hear this song from My Generation: Deluxe Edition, I thought it was awesome. Great early Who song with "Maximum R&B". 10/10

Okay, this is another Sabbath song, but you've never heard it enless you have their so called "mediocre" 1978 album Never Say Die!. Here's a song that I think is awesome entitled "Junior's Eyes".

Anytime At All-Nice surprise. I haven't heard much early WHo, so this was new to me. I like the pinao and ROger's volcals. Lyricsw weren't too shabby either. 8/10

Juinior's Eyes-THANK GOD you chose this song. I remmeber where I've heard Sabbath before...my uncle used to play them, this album especially. I'm sorry, but would have to agree with the mediocre comment about the album; I didn't like it too much. I LOVe thsis ogn though. Greatbassline, emotional lyrics, killers solo, cool fills, real epic and such. it's great. 9/10

This thread is not dead yet! I'm gonna post tomorrow, with an edit in this post.

Sorry for the really late reply. I'm just always lazy to upload another song, so I never listened to your song.

Tupelo Honey - Nice song. I'm not familiar with Van Morrison really, though. It sounds like a mixture of The Grateful Dead and CCR or something. I like it. 8/10

You probably won't really like this song, but I pretty much want you to hear the insane bass riff. It's by Primus and is called "DMV" from their Pork Pop album. (Don't believe that stupid filter on the album name... It's really S O D A...)

Well ur...that was interesting.

Bass riff was cool. The singe's voice and the lyrics irritated me to no end. There was some interesting but wacky synth/guitar work. For me it got boring pretty fast. After 2 minutes I couldn't wait till it was over.
5/10

This is a song with JeorgeMcStarkey in mind. Green Day. You hate em. You love em. Me, neither. I have differnet tears when it comes to bands. On the first tear is really awesome and great bands (i.e. The Beatles) and the second tear is home to good groups who aren't my fav but I still really enjoy. (i.e. Queen) The third etra belongs to groups one neither likes or hates, but might lean towards one side or the other. Green Day is on the third tear for me, leanign towards the good side. I like them but I wouldn't consider them a really good band (Second tear) or one my my favs (first tear.)

Anyway, here's a song from their latest rock-opera oriented album that has been praised by critics, loved by newcomers and old fans alike, and the subject of critisism for the band seeling out for others. This track is about the main character, Jesus, who's life in Suburbia is filled with bad crowds, cruel kids, drugs, abusive parents, corrupt government, and no future. Afetr much thinking, Jesus desides to leave Suburbia and head out on his own.

Well, all I really wanted you to hear is the bass riff in DMV, pretty much.

I'm sure the song is good (because you said it was), but I don't think I can listen to any Green day song. I've been scarred by the beast at school. I might listen to it one day. Sorry.

This next song is the third (3rd) Metallica song posted by me in this topic. It's my favorite instumental of all time. It has awesome solos and everything. It's from their awesome third album, Master of Puppets released in 1986. ORION!

"Orion" - Metallica

(It's pronounced Oh-ryan. I'm telling you this because I used to think it was pronounced Or-e-yun  )

(P.S. - Bass Solo at 6:35)

I really liked that actually. I haven't heard much Moody Blues. I liked when it breaks down in the middle, and the sweet wailing. I really dug it. It has inspired me to check out more Moody Blues. 9/10.

Here is a song by Pavement called Shady Lane.

Welcome, FlamingPieMan! Zach and I both hope you participate in this topic more. It's really fun.

Question - This is the best song posted in a while. I really like it. I think I'm going to check them out more as well. 9/10

Shady Lane - I've never heard of Pavement, but I'm liking this song. It's like an Oasis-y Beatles-esque song. What year was it? 8/10.

Here's a Rush instrumental called "YYZ" from their 1981 Moving Pictures album. You should already have that album, though. B)

8/10. I like how it can go from a slow melody and a slow riff, to the fast upbeat part with the hard powerful chords. I like nostalgic songs, so this fits perfectly.

Shady Lane-This was interesting. The lyrics were nice, but not great. I like the guitar and the trippy-esque ending. The singer's voice was irritating at parts but for the most part wasn't bad. 7/10

Someday Never Comes-I liked this. Vocals and the lyrics as well as the repeating stanza was cool. I liked the bass and chords with the organ in the background a lot. 8/10

Day is Done-I really liked this one. The guitar, the lyrics, the singer's voice-all were awesome. 8.5/10

XYZ-Holy crap. Now I see why everyone talks about this instrumental. The bass is awesome. 8/10

Here' some reggae for y'all.

YYZ. I understand, though. I'm sorry. But never fucking do it again! I don't want Rush to turn into friggin' Coldplay, now.

I've heard Buffalo Soldier before. I'll let somebody else do it. (Plus I don't feel like unploading a song. I don't have much on the computer.)

This song is on Greatest Hits 1974-1978, but I'll comment on it anyway.

Serenade is an awesome song. It's probably my favorite SMB song. I love the Spanish-oriented opening chords. I like the lyrics alot. I really like the part where it goes "Woah-oh..." at 1:55, too. 9/10

I'm running out of songs here!

Here's a Black Sabbath song from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973) called "A National Acrobat".

Sereade-Pretty cool. I loved the vocals and the melody as well the Spanish-like chord progression. 8/10

A National Acrobat-Very cool song. I loved the wah-wah and the epic, spooky, attacking lyrics. Always a trademark as usual. Ozzy's voice didn't seem to bug me as much on this track. 8.5/10

Fuck, forgot a song, wait a sec....
