Hate me, do it and do it again.

Started off quiet, then we had the vocals come in, which were alright, but I really like his vocals in "Bittersweet" a lot. The orchestra was great (I always like songs with one, makes it more epic). The lyrics are better than "Bittersweet" (obviously, those lyrics aren't too amazing). A dark song, great echo with the vocals, but I don't think I'd ever call it close to a favorite of mine, no matter how many times I listen to it. Just for the poor soul who wants something random to review. It's, of course, by Vanessa Anne, titled "Let's Dance". It's my (current) favorite off her album, I want to see what someone thinks, haha. Let's put it this way. Her looks are better than her songs. Okay. Her voice was hot I guess, but the song... wasn't good. It sounds like "Rock And Roll, Pt. 2" with lyrics. Let's Dance? To that garbage? What were the producers (who wrote the songs, of course) thinking? "Hey guys. Let's putting a crazy drum solo in the beginning, then have a Clapton-calibur riff that goes on for the whole song. That's what those youngsters like. Let's also make her sing with an effect on her voice to make it sound sluttier. It'll be a huge hit." 3/10 That's for the artwork that came with the song. Dean, you can do better. Alot better. Don't take it personally. (And why should you?) But please, don't post "SexyBack" next. ![]() Here's a Joe Jackson song from his 1982 album Night And Day entitled "Cancer". Hope you like it. That song is like... perfect for me... Im hispanic, so that whole Latin percussion thing works out great, and it has a kinda Smooth Jazz feel to it, and I love Smooth Jazz. The solo for the piano is very Jazzy and it reminds me a lot of the pianist on many of Coltrane's songs. The singing is great as well. I loved it all! This song is from the Brian Jonestown Massacre's album Their Satanic Majesties Second Request, the song is called "In India You". It's one of my favorite songs from them. Hope you like. Link has expired so I'll make a new one... Okay my song is Nirvana's "Do Re Mi", but you've got to remember, this is a rough copy. It's a homemade demo made by Kurt Cobain while it was still in the works, so take that into mind. Don't take off for sound quality. Nirvana - Do Re Mi |

haha, I thought it was going to be Nirvana playing that one song from sound of music. "Do a Deer, a female Deer, Ray, a drop of golden sunnnn..." That would be funny. But instead it was actually a great song. Easily could have been a Nirvana hit. I like the wailing vocals on the Do reeeee meeeeeeeee. Refresing hearing a song I haven't heard from them to remind me how great they were. 9/10 The next song is form a modern band called Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!. I'm posting it mainly cause Ringo Starr recently called them one of the best bands of our generation. You Judge for youself. I personally like them a lot, but i can understand if you don't like his voice.... The Skin Of My Yellow Country Teeth- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah |

I like it. I don't think it's the BEST band of our generation, like Ringo said, but it's good. The melody is good, and the guitar riff is pretty catchy IMO. The singer should have sung this song better, or maybe he can't sing at all? Basically, everything about the song was good except the singing. 8/10 I'll post the song again.... This song is from the Brian Jonestown Massacre's album Their Satanic Majesties Second Request, the song is called "In India You". It's one of my favorite songs from them. Hope you like. Maybe if you had said it was some lost Syd Barret bootleg. Saddest part is that it's probably better than anything Pink Floyd put out while Barret was in the band. As hard as everyone tries not to be, the people on this board are also a result of MTV, radio, magazines, etc. Maybe not as much as the kids in school or whatnot, but I have a feeling that even those kids are more open to bands they've never heard than the people here. |

Okay, I'll admit. I downloaded that song a month ago, the first time you posted it, and I've been holding off on it because I'm so lazy in this topic. The song was pretty good. The instruments were good, but it seems like they made a minute worth of music, then looped it to fit into four minutes. It sounded repetitive with the lack of parts to the song. 7/10 By the way, if you named it as Syd Barrett, I definately would've held off on that for a couple of months. ![]() Here's a song. Link without the title or the artist so nobody gets any thoughts before they even hear the song. |

People like Pink Floyd. It doesn't mean they don't like the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Stop being so paranoid. |
