Love Will Tear Us Apart, Again
An idea stolen from another forum.

Basically the idea is this: At the end of this post I will post a song I think is good via the magic www.yousendit.com and the next poster will listne to it and give it a review and a rating out of 10.Having given this rating, they will suggest a track of their own. The next person who wants to take part in the game will listen to their suggestion, review, rate, and suggest their own, and so forth. The purpose is to help people discover new songs or bands that ehy may not have heard of.

P.S. Don't suggest a track without reviewing the last track suggested. Also, avoid posting songs you know that everyone else knows. Try to avoid listening to tracks you've already heard.

My first track is:

Uncle John's Band-The Grateful Dead

I think people are too lazy to upload a friggin' song, but I like this idea! That's a cool song. Very relaxing.

This song is a Police song from 1979 entitled "Contact" from the album Reggatta de Blanc, which my signature is from. You're probably familiar with the Police, but this is an album track, and I suggest that you listen to it, and perhaps look into the Police a little more.

I like this song. The main riff is cool and I really liek the singer's voice. Lyrics are nice, if a bit repetitive. I' think I'll check out more of the police. 8/10

That's what you're link said.

We should rename this topic "Free Music" or something so people post in it. I think this thread can really catch on and be very fun - with alot of people participating. :D

Lady Rain by Hall & Oates was interesting. I've never heard a Hall & Oates song like that. I'm used to the 80's pop Hall & Oates. Overall it was a good song. 8/10.

This next song is by Queen. It's a very nice song written by bassist John Deacon entitled "In Only Seven Days". Chances are you'll never hear this jem unless you have their 1978 album Jazz. The album itself is great, and I think this song would be enough to look outside Queen's Greatest Hits and into some albums. Enjoy!

Wow. I really liked this song. Freddie's voice on is amazing. It sounded likea woman at first. The piano is good too. The lyrics are a bit simplistic but have a feel and sophistication to them that makes them woderful. 8.5/10

This next is part of a rock opera. It mightseem pointless outside of the story as song on its own, but it's pretty song.

Have You Seen The Stars Tonight[/]i-Jefferson Starship

That song was good. It was very calm but had a psychedelic feel to it. It was very nice and relaxing. 9/10

We might as well call this topic "TheSmashedGuitar and JeorgeMcStarkey Listen to Music".

Okay, I'm going to go a different route on this next song. It's a slower song by Metallica, and it should make people realize that Metallica can make a different type of music. It was famous back in 1991, but you may not know of it. So, here it is.

That song was awesome. I love the softnees during the singing and then the hardcore London Bridge is falling downs between the verses and chorus. The bass and guitar were excellent. I really liked the lyrics, too. 9/10

The Expierience sounded like an interesting choice, so I downloaded it. I loved the beginning riff, and the vocals are of course great, all Hendrix's are. It seems like Hendrix's version of "Like A Rolling Stone" with the lyrics. The drumming is also awesome, because their drummer (who's name escapes me) is awesome.

Oh fuck. Solo just came on. That's the SHIT. Even if it wasn't much, Hendrix makes it awesome. Lovely song, haha. I need their debute so badly.

Mitch Mitchell is the name you're looking for, Dean. :D

Highway Chile: I've heard this one before, but it's still awesome every time. It makes me want to rock out. Does anybody remember WCW and the nWo? Their entrance song had that riff along with Voodoo Child. I'm a nerd. 9/10

Put the Money Down: I nice little jam that sort of reminds me of The Seeker and the Who's Next era. It's a bit repetitive at some points, but good nonetheless. 8/10

This song is by Nirvana. It's from their 1989 debut album Bleach, before they made it big with Nevermind in 1991. The whole album was made for $600, but that doesn't matter, because it's still good. I liked this song since the first time I heard it. The riff got me hooked. Here's Love Buzz.

This quickly is becoming one of my favorite Nirvana songs. I love the guitar riff, and this may be one of Kurt's best (ableit short) vocal preformances. I need to get Bleach. 8/10

"3/5 Of A Mile In 10 Seconds"-Jefferson Airplane

I've heard this song once or twice, but always forgot about it. This is is a cool-funky-60s-flower-power song. 8/10

Oh yeah, in "Love Buzz", that's a bass riff! Unless you were talking about something else.

Speaking of bass, this next song is another one by Metallica from their 1983 debut Kill 'Em All. It's a solo by none other than Cliff Burton.

Damn, that was cool. I like the bass disortiona lot; it almost makes it sound like a guitar. It starting to get a bit reppetitive and dull, but the second half of it blew me away. 7/10

Ha, this is rather blatant promotion and rather selfish, but I guess I'll do it. It's a song ym band recorded for our first album. We alternate bwteen the name The Sauce and The Ingredients when we feel like it. We recorded this while we were the Sauce.

"Sundae"-The Sauce

Just incase you're thinking "That little fucker, shamelessy promoting his own band," here's another song for ya.

"Waste"-Phish

Edit: Sorry, the name of the song was "Sundae," not Sauce.
