Shame on me for not posting this. And if I have, it deserves re-posting. Jimi Hendrix Experience - "The Wind Cries Mary" After all the jacks are in their boxes and the clowns have all gone to bed You can hear happiness staggering on down the street Footprints dressed in red and the wind whispers mary A broom is drearily sweeping up the broken pieces of yesterday’s life Somewhere a queen is weeping somewhere a king has no wife And the wind it cries mary The traffic lights they turn of blue tomorrow And shine their emptiness down on my bed The tiny island sails downstream cause the life that lived is is dead And the wind screams mary Will the wind ever remember the names it has blown in the past And with this crutch it’s old age and it’s wisdom It whispers no this will be the last And the wind cries mary |

King Crimson - "The Court of the Crimson King" The dance of the puppets The rusted chains of prism moons Are shattered by the sun. I walk a road, horizons change The tournament’s begun. The purple piper plays his tune, The choir softly sing; Three lullabies in an ancient tongue, For the court of the crimson king. The keeper of the city keys Put shutters on the dreams. I wait outside the pilgrim’s door With insufficient schemes. The black queen chants The funeral march, The cracked brass bells will ring; To summon back the fire witch To the court of the crimson king. The gardener plants an evergreen Whilst trampling on a flower. I chase the wind of a prism ship To taste the sweet and sour. The pattern juggler lifts his hand; The orchestra begin. As slowly turns the grinding wheel In the court of the crimson king. On soft gray mornings widows cry The wise men share a joke; I run to grasp divining signs To satisfy the hoax. The yellow jester does not play But gently pulls the strings And smiles as the puppets dance In the court of the crimson king. |

Bob Dylan-"Masters Of War" Come you masters of war You that build all the guns You that build the death planes You that build the big bombs You that hide behind walls You that hide behind desks I just want you to know I can see through your masks You that never done nothin' But build to destroy You play with my world Like it's your little toy You put a gun in my hand And you hide from my eyes And you turn and run farther When the fast bullets fly Like Judas of old You lie and deceive A world war can be won You want me to believe But I see through your eyes And I see through your brain Like I see through the water That runs down my drain You fasten the triggers For the others to fire Then you set back and watch When the death count gets higher You hide in your mansion As young people's blood Flows out of their bodies And is buried in the mud You've thrown the worst fear That can ever be hurled Fear to bring children Into the world For threatening my baby Unborn and unnamed You ain't worth the blood That runs in your veins How much do I know To talk out of turn You might say that I'm young You might say I'm unlearned But there's one thing I know Though I'm younger than you Even Jesus would never Forgive what you do Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul And I hope that you die And your death'll come soon I will follow your casket In the pale afternoon And I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand o'er your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead --------------------------------------------------------------- This song describes exactly how I feel about war. |

The Light Comes From Within (Linda McCartney) You say I'm lazy, you say I'm thick Takes one to know one, you make me sick. You say I'm simple, you say i'm a hick You're fucking no one, you stupid dick, Oppression won't win The light comes from within. I need a sense of calm I wanna smell my flowers You need complete control You wanna build more towers. You'd try to change me if you could I see the trees, you saw the wood You say I'm diff'rent, you say we don't click I say you're crazy, you make me sick. Oppression won't win The light comes from within. I say you're greedy because you scheme You say I'm foolish because I dream. Oppression won't win The light comes from within. I need a sense of calm Wanna smell the flowers You need complete control You wanna build more towers. I say you're greedy because you scheme You say I'm foolish because I dream. Oppression won't win The light comes from within. |

So many good ones... "Twitchin' like a finger, on the trigger of a gun/ leavin' nothin' but the dead and dying back in my little town" -Simon and Garfunkel, My Little Town. "Tonight I'll sing my songs again I'll play the game, and pretend/ But all my words come back to me in shades of mediocraty/ Like emptiness in harmony I need someone to comfort me" -Homeward Bound, S&G (my absolute favorite song of all time) "Now when you want somebody you don't have to speak to/ Won't you come see me Queen Jane?" -Queen Jane Approx., Dylan. "Go ahead, go ahead baby and light up the town. Do everything your heart desires, remember, I'll always be around." - Time is on my side, The Rolling Stones. "And you say "Oh my god, am I here all alone?" because something is happening here but you don't know what it is, do you, Mister Jones." - Ballad of a Thin Man, Dylan. |

I heard this song could easily be in Pink Floyd's The Final Cut. Personally I love it it's one of ray davies' best work. Some Mother's Son- The Kinks Some mother's son lies in a field Someone has killed some mother's son today Head blown up by some soldier's gun While all the mothers stand and wait Some mother's son ain't coming home today Some mothers son ain't got no grave Two soldiers fighting in a trench One soldier glances up to see the sun And dreams of games he played when he was young And then his friend calls out his name It stops his dream and as he turns his head A second later he is dead Some mother's son lies in a field Back home they put his picture in a frame But all dead soldiers look the same While all the parents stand and wait To meet their children coming home from school Some mother's son is lying dead Somewhere someone is crying Someone is trying to be so brave But still the world keeps turning Though all the children have gone away Some mother's son lies in a field But in his mother's eyes he looks the same As on the day he went away They put his picture on the wall They put flowers in the picture frame Some mothers memory remains |

"November Rain" - Guns 'N' Roses When I look into your eyes I can see a love restrained But darlin' when I hold you Don't you know I feel the same 'Cause nothin' lasts forever And we both know hearts can change And it's hard to hold a candle In the cold November rain We've been through this such a long long time Just tryin' to kill the pain But lovers always come and lovers always go An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today Walking away If we could take the time to lay it on the line I could rest my head Just knowin' that you were mine All mine So if you want to love me then darlin' don't refrain Or I'll just end up walkin' In the cold November rain Do you need some time...on your own Do you need some time...all alone Everybody needs some time...on their own Don't you know you need some time...all alone I know it's hard to keep an open heart When even friends seem out to harm you But if you could heal a broken heart Wouldn't time be out to charm you Sometimes I need some time...on my own Sometimes I need some time...all alone Everybody needs some time...on their own Don't you know you need some time...all alone And when your fears subside And shadows still remain I know that you can love me When there's no one left to blame So never mind the darkness We still can find a way 'Cause nothin' lasts forever Even cold November rain Don't ya think that you need somebody Don't ya think that you need someone Everybody needs somebody You're not the only one You're not the only one |

I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark When he made Pearl Harbor I miss you more than that movie missed the point And that's an awful lot girl And now, now you've gone away And all i'm trying to say is Pearl Harbor sucked, and i miss you I need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school He was terrible in that film I need you like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part He's way better than Ben Affleck And now, all I can think about is your smile And that shitty movie, too Pearl Harbor sucked, and I miss you Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies? I guess Pearl Harbor sucked..just a little bit more than I miss you Team America: World Police - The End of an Act Haha those lyrics are awesome |

"The Rain Song" By Led Zeppelin It is the springtime of my loving - the second season I am to know. You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before. It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low. It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom. Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune. Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from time to time.... Talk, talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter, I never thought it would ever thaw. I cursed the gloom that set upon us... But I know that I love you so... These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall, This is the wonder of devotion - I seek the torch we all must hold. This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall... |

"Burning of the Midnight Lamp"-The Jimi Hendrix Experience The morning is dead and the day is too The step is up here to meet me but the velvet fool All my loneliness I have felt today It's a little more than enough to make a man throw himself away. And I continue to burn the midnight lamp alone. Now the smiling portrait of you is still hangin' on my frowning wall It really doesn't, really doesn't bother me to watch at all It's just the ah ever falling dust that makes it so hard for me to see That forgotten earing clear on the floor facing coolly the one at the door. And I continue to burn the midnight lamp woh alone, oh burn. Yeah, yeah Lonely, lonely, lonely! Loneliness is such a drag. So here I sit to face that same old fire place Gettin' ready for the same old explosion goin' through my mind Soon enough time will tell about the circus in the wishing well And someone who will buy and sell for me, someone who will tow my bail. And I continue to burn the same old lamp alone Yeah midnight lamp Can you hear me callin' you So lonely. Gotta blow my mind Yeah, yeah! Lonely, lonely! Blow my mind. |

"Atlantis" (Beginning poem) By Donovan. The continent of Atlantis was an island which lay before the great flood in the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean. So great an area of land, that from her western shores those beautiful sailors journeyed to the South and the North Americas with ease, in their ships with painted sails. To the East Africa was a neighbour, across a short strait of sea miles. The great Egyptian age is but a remnant of The Atlantian culture. The antediluvian kings colonised the world All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas In all legends from all lands were from fair Atlantis. Knowing her fate, Atlantis sent out ships to all corners of the Earth. On board were the Twelve: The poet, the physician, the farmer, the scientist, The magician and the other so-called Gods of our legends. Though Gods they were - And as the elders of our time choose to remain blind Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new Hail Atlantis! |
