STAIRWAYE TO HEVEN LALW WTF. Psh. Led Zep II is the winner for me; It, in my opinion, is the most rockin' of them all. Led Zep I was good, but really bluesy n' shtuff; III was just a bit too mellow, and IV is like... Jeez. Come on. I'm not gonna love an album because of one song, and its a bit overrated anyway. Just like DARKSIDEOFTHEMUN what? I was about to choose Presence because it is equally as rockin' as Zep II, but its a bit too sloppy (It was directed by Page, after all :C). And don't even go near In Through the Out Door. Overload of Synthesizers + Zep = SHYT. Plant's voice is a bit hoarse on that LP too. PHYSICAL GRAFFITI... Come to think of it, I should have voted for Physical Graffiti instead of Zep II :/ |

In the end, Led Zeppelin is their best, most groundbreaking album. Released in January 1969, nothing sounded like that before it. Plant's voice is at its peak, they're all so young and eager to play. This was before they got too pretensious and "owners of the world" kind of thing. It's bluesy and raw as hell, with minimal overdubs. This is the true power of Led Zeppelin. And they were all made under the direction of Jimmy Page. He was the main producer, as well as song writer and musician. The genius and true soul of that band. |

Yeah but ITTOD was directed by John Paul Jones. Hence the increased use of synths. |

Hence an example of what heroin can do to you. Knocked Jimmy Page right out of the director's chair. |

I'm not gonna vote yet. I'm leaning towards IV, but also I was leaning towards Led Zeppelin and Houses of the Holy, but I wanna listen to all of them in more detail before I cast my vote. |

I only own Led Zeppelin II and III, but I have the "Early & Latter Days" (sadly, now that I think about it), and ffrom the songs I've heard, Rock and Roll, Black Dog, The Battle of Evermore and Stairway to Heaven are my four favorites (some are really close). I just need to hear the other three songs and I'll so vote for IV, but out of the two *cough* I have, Zeppelin II is really good. |

I wasn't necessarily directing that comment to you, my good sir ^_^;; I'm saying that as a whole, that's generally why people like it the most, and that sickens me. Or at least that's the case where I live. Bunch of fucking wannabes walking around with a Stairway to Heaven shirt who can't even name another song by them when I ask them to. >:o |

I don't understand why people hate liking the most overrated album. It's usually famous because it's good. I do tend to do this, though. |
