Either Robert Blake (The folk singer, not the murderer) or Paul Leary (of the Butthole Surfers). |

No I saw Keith Moon coming. Even if he played drumset or whatever. Best in skill? Hendrix. Favorites? Kirk Hammet (Metallica), Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Janick Gers(all Iron Maiden), Angus Young (AC/DC), Dimebag Darrel (even though I don't listen to Pantera), and Kurt Cobain. Bassists? Easily Cliff Burton and Steve Harris. |

Well, there's my favorite guitarist, and then there is who I consider to be the best guitarist. If I could vote for my favorite, I'd easily pick Brian Jones. His guitar work wasn't exceptionally unbelieveable, but he had great musical talent all around. When it comes to who I'd consider to be the best guitarist, hands down Hendrix. he did things with the guitar that people didn't know were possible. But, because it was a FAVORITE poll, I went with Townshend. Figures Harrison gets ranked so high. This forum is practically made up of a bunch of ex-Shabby Road washed-up Beatle hippies who have never bought a non-Beatles-related record in their life! Seriously, there's BETTER stuff out there. Every heard of Brian Jones and his band, The Rolling Stones??? |

Take it easy there killer. Almost every single Beatles fan here listens to a ton of other music. Also, like you said it's favorite guitarist... are you the law on who should favor something over another thing? No. A little thought before a post never hurt anyone.

My friends call me Keith, but you can call me John. I was a rust repairer. I was a rust repairer and full-time survivor. I survived all the major earthquakes, and the Titanic, and several air crashes. Out here in the fields I fight for my meals. ![]() I Don't Mind Other Guys Dancing With My Girl. That's fine. I know them all pretty well. But I know sometimes I must get out in the light. Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright. The kids are alright.

Syd Barrett. With Gilmour as a close second. The only reason I put Barrett first is because of his attitude to music - he played what he wanted to, not what his fans or the record company wanted him to, regardless of how much pressure was placed on him to do otherwise. I particularly love the London 1966/1967 version of Interstellar Overdrive. It owns. RIP Syd Barrett. |

I would say that the best there is Jimi, but being a Floydian, my favourite guitarist is Gilmour. |
![]() “My technique is laughable at times. I have developed a style of my own, I suppose, which creeps around. I don't have to have too much technique for it. I've developed the parts of my technique that are useful to me. I'll never be a very fast guitar player. I don't really know what to say about my style. There's always a melodic intent in there.”-Dave Gilmour.

David Gilmour. He may not be the fastest guitarist but he puts the most emotion into his guitar playing and, at the en of the day, that is what music is about. |

Why do you talk as if you know people here? or their musical tastes? You've barely hung around here. So please shut the fuck up, and don't make stupid assumptions. |

I'd change my vote from Harrison to anybody on that poll in a second. Even Keith Richards, if it makes you feel better. We need to have a favorite bassists thread and everbody vote for Brian Wilson. |

Well, I'll admit I went too far with the stupid comments about these people. Only joking, but who's to say I don't know the people on this forum, or that I've barely hung around here? I've been a member since April last year, and before that I was a member of Shabby and whatever else the Beatles-Discography had, you know those forums that existed briefly... And regarding their musical tastes, it's well known that pretty much everybody here is a Beatles fan, as this forum is made up of ex-Shabby and Beatles-Discography.com people. But you're right I shouldn't have made such a stupid remark... |
