Like i've mentioned before, there's no convincing you of anything Mr. MCR!! But to say either debut album was shit, would be a fallacy. it is my opinion that they are great, but you have to go bring up "others", which made no sense. Yes, alot of other musicians come out with great debut albums, and so should they, other wise there would be alot of bored listeners out there. You still have yet to tell me what's so horrid about these two albums i've mentioned. You started this, well finish it. You too mr. "zman". |

I always thought this topic should be an open discussion rather than a poll, cause there are too many options to put in a poll |

I agree. Too many truly great debut albums got left off in favor of mediocre ones. |

To be fair the poll is rather dated, but i think the ones up there aren't mediocre, especially The Doors, Piper, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, and many more |

I forgot to mention Mr. Tambourine Man by the Byrds, yeah not the best debut album of all time, but still pretty fucking cool. |

I won't argue that there are some great debut albums on there, but I don't feel it's necessary to have, let's say, George Harrison and Ringo Starr on there, as opposed to having The Stone Roses' debut album or The Stooges' debut album. |

See when i said it was dated, i meant that at the time the board hadn't really expanded as much musically and bands like that weren't as well known as they are now, so yeah that would explain that |

It's true, it's amazing how we've all grown and now each one has more defined and different musical tastes. |

Yes it's a good album, but one of the greatest debut albums? Wake up! There are some good and catchy pop songs (I Saw Her Standing There, Please Please Me...), however this album contains a lot of dated crap. Do you really want to compare it with masterpieces like Are You Experienced or Led Zeppelin I ? |

Another great debut albums: Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood R.E.M. - Murmur Dire Straits - Dire Straits Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers The Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground and Nico The Stooges - The Stooges New York Dolls - New York Dolls Television - Marquee Moon The Clash - The Clash Ramones - Ramones Oasis - Definitely Maybe The Strokes - Is This It Portishead - Dummy ... All of them are IMHO much better than Please Please Me |
