Except not, cause Dark Side is the epiphony of Floyd's greatness.

But like other stuff better, I don't care......but call DSOTM lame and I hurt you.  :cigar:

Not really..lyrically it isn't, guitar wise, it isn't, drum wise, it isn't, keyboard wise, it isn't..yeah it may have been in group effort, but really that's about it..and even then it's a rather unbalanced record, and tires on me really quick

Callign DSOTM "unbalanced" is crazy.....and to rip at it one part at a time really isn't fair, it's one giant peice of work. The group's best group effort and arguably their most creative and influential. Without DSOTM, Floyd wouldn't have moved on to their later, great 70's work. To not have it as your favorite is one thing...to call call it a good album is another; it's madness.

It's an alright album, and like it said yes it's their height in group effort, but concept wise, lyric wise, keyboard and drum wise, they've done much better, and i find it just to be an average-good record nothing too special.

Btw I meant unbalanced by there's one guy singing basically the whole record, and that bores me really quick. His voice is ok for a while, but then it just gets annoying

Concept-wise DSOTM is very original and superb. Its not sub-par at all. Pretty much set the bar for similar albums since.

And like I said, to pick it apart is sortof pointless because it's meant be taken in as a whole.

The Wall is Roger singing the whole record, so your argument is invalid. But now you're saying David's singing isn't good, which is again, crazy. :cigar:

well it's the weakest concept wise of the big 4, easily to me

the wall> animals> wywh>tdsotm in terms of concept, and overall

It's a good concept, but the others are much better

No first you're putting words in my mouth

1) I never claimed the Wall was balanced, Dave sings more on The Wall prolly than Roger does on TDSOTM (backup, choruses, verses, etc)

2) I never said he sung bad, I said his voice tires me easily after 2 or so songs of hearing the same thing from him. His voice frankly is nice, but just can't hold my attention for long, so what I'm saying is it's alright when not in excess, which is why I like the Wall, because Dave barely sings, and when he does, it's way different every time, and he sings great on the Wall

I think you're getting The Wall and Darkside confused.

Without DSOTM those concepts would not have been possible. :cigar:

But yea, we just disagree here.

Nah, I think they're both rather unbalanced..which is something Floyd rarely achieved on a record, balance

I think their best balance is Wish You Were Here

ASOS - Semi-balanced
Ummaguma - well..the live album is cool
More - Don't even get me started
AHM - kind of
Meddle - More Dave-heavy
OBC- kinda
TDSOTM - almost
WYWH - Bingo
Animals - Kinda, Rick still did some
The Wall - not so much, but sorta
The Final Cut - not at all

I'd rather have someone un-biased analyze them, thanks though.
