Blue Horned Humanoids

What the bleeping heck was that? Not, as you may have assumed, a thematic CD from the purveyors of soap powder. No, "Blue Horned Humanoids" is, rather, the debut album by electro-industrial / dark ambient artist, Non-Bio. In case you were wondering, the title "Blue Horned Humanoids" is a reference to the 1980s computer game Elite. If you knew that already, then this is the record for you. If, like me, you were shaking your head, and going "what the hecking jeck is eighties computer game Elite", then you were having sex in the eighties instead.

Seems this began as a film / animation project, which explains the plethora of videos appearing on the website, which then transformed into an electronic music project. And, for its ilk, it's no that bad. For sure, a lot of it is the kind of thing you'll hear on Italian horror movies, but that's not a bad thing. The opener, 'Survival Horror' serves notice for what's to come, with its atmospheric sound, before the poppier (and that's a relative term) 'Light Absorbent Disco Ball' comes along in a surfeit of bleeps.

Elsewhere, there is a potential hit single in the shape of 'Megacube', the really scary mindhump of 'Mental Causeway', and the ambient comedown of 'Transubstantiation'. Which makes it about 1000% better than anything Keane will ever record. Ever. Elsewhere, there's tunes about the Illuminati, beer monsters and probably enough subliminal messages to turn us all into Skinny Puppy worshippers. There's a video down below that should tell you whether this is the sort of thing that people who like this sort of thing will like. And if the follow up manages to convince you of the existence of Agharta, then I will be a very happy man indeed. And possibly off the medication.
