![]() Wishbone Ash (pictured above with Chantel McGregor) will release their first official UK single in 20 years in Feb 2010. Entitled Man With No Name, it's a blistering rock track that fuses modern rock guitar with the classic Wishbone Ash sound. A new album and DVD in were also released this year to mark their 40th anniversary as a band. Andy Powell appeared on numerous radio shows including BFBS Rock Show, Total Rock, Rock Radio and the Afternoon Show on BBC6 last week to promote the Oct Uk tour the band have just completed. Wishbone Ash celebrates their 40th Anniversary this year. As part of the year long celebrations the band played an exclusive show and party at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Special guests Ben Granfelt, Mark Birch & Spam Spence did an incredible job and their contributions to the long history of Wishbone Ash shine as brightly today as they did then. The Shepherds Bush show was more than a party, it was a celebration of the rich 40 year history of Wishbone Ash and a thank you to the fans who have supported Andy and the guys over the years. A lot has changed since the bands inception back in 1969, but the one constant? Andy Powell & his dedication to the music and the fans. It has never wavered. He may be the soul & inspiration of the band, but due credit must be given to Bob, Muddy, and Joe, for they are most certainly the heart. As Part of the year long celebrations 2009 will see the band doing the following shows / festival / media - Working Class Hero Festival in Norway A show in France on June 13th at the invitation of the mayor of Mezidon in Normandy DVD releases of the 40th gig in Shepherds Bush. Festival dates in Belgium, Holland and Germany. Shows around Poland in September. UK tour for the whole of October Nov tour of central Europe USA tour for December. http://www.wishboneash.com |
