Apparently, this second album from Dutch progsters Silhouette isn't a concept album. No, fact fans, instead it's a 78 minute thematic work based on a story by guitarist Brian de Graeve. So there.

However, concept or theme, it's a very good prog album indeed. The structure and sound will be very familiar to those, like me, who thought of 1982 / 1983 as heralding the New Wave of British Progressive Rock. Which was very isolationist of us, and is now referred to as 80's neo-prog. So if you're into Haze, Solstice, IQ and, especially, Pendragon, you'll like it here.

'Concert Hangover' starts things off in fine fettle, a rampaging, intricate piece of melodic prog, with an aggressive edge; the eight minutes flash past. And there's plenty more where that came from with 'Searching For Her' and 'Feeling Good, real standouts for me, with the latter, in particular, a remarkable song.

A largely faultless album, this should be required listening for the progsters out there.
