Mumm-Ra - What Would Steve Do?![]() One of the great things about actual records, as opposed to downloads, is the record sleeve. Many's the record I've bought based on the cover art, and so it was with this one. And the cool band name. I was mentally hearing some kind of 1930s Egyptologist palying Krautrock. And what more could one want from a sleeve than a bewhiskered, stovepipe hat wearing, penny farthing rider? In orange. You're right. Nothing more. Naturally, the music doesn't live up to the sleeve, veering between British Sea Power and the Guillemots with obligatory scratchy guitars. S'arite. I blame AC/DC. After all, if I hadn't have bought "If You Want Blood...You've Got It", based on the cover, I would never have carried on in this manner. Oddly, the Floorboard remix suits the imagery better than the Youth produced A-side. Incidentally, isn;t it about thime he changed his name? he must be cracking on a bit now. Anyway, it all goes Boards of Canada on the flip side, but at 33 and a third. Either that or I played it at the wrong speed. Good drugs, droogs. Buy From Amazon |
