Okay so first off, I'm not really working on any project in particular (or any project in particular that I want to talk about at the moment :P), I just happen to hit curiosity from time to time. Let's just say that I just have to know! In time, this might become a lengthy topic, but I might as well start asking questions while they're still fresh in my head!Okay, so first one: What exactly in an XML file dictates that it should have an Icon 3D offset, an Icon 3D Scale, or a Minimum Headroom? More specifically, what are they for? For example, let's take a look at the colored text in the Fountain_Elephant.xml file.:
Some Scenery files have them and some don't. Does anyone have a clear explanation of why they might be in there? |

Minimum headroom is how "tall" the item is in game for placing under things like elevated paths. I think it's the clearance required before the game tells you it is not enough!! etc. 3Diconoffset I always thought was something to do with the icon in the corner when looking at the construction panel, like it determines the size/placement of the item in the box? Which is why in some mesh-edited or mesh-swapped objects the icon sticks out the box because it isn't fitting right on those co-ordinates any more. Although I might just be making that up. |

Helloo everyone, I have a new question! ![]() What exactly is the difference between a "standard" dock arrow, and a "special" dock arrow? It has me kinda stumped right now. To visualize it a bit, you can normally find this code in most scenery files: Ex.: Standard Dock Arrow:
"Special" Dock Arrow as seen in the Donation Boxes:
Also, what are the sizes for? Is it to expand the arrow through its width, height, or proportionally outward? |

This time I have no idea. I never noticed that there's two kinds of docking arrows...I'd suggest you simply try it out with both codes.

Ok so just from looking at the bench and donation box, the bench's arrow is definitely smaller so the size thing makes sense. (You do know that the docking arrow is the green arrow that shows the direction that guests will use it right?) As for the special quality, im not so sure. |
Check out my site where you can get many of my downloads here.
