Ok, so I made my American Mustang, and the males are supposed to be buckskin, which works fine. The females are currently only supposed to be blue roan. I got the skin colored and i thought i had the files coded correctly from reading another post about different male and female skins. When i try to place the females, they are still using the male skin, but it appears like it is going to use the female skin until i place the animal.
I did name the files differently with _M and _F and changed the files in the xml for the male and female to match, but I guess I messed up somewhere. Any suggestions?

The situation you are describing indicates that the nif is coded perfectly, but the xml for the F is somehow linking to the male dds file.
How did you edit the female xml? can you maybe post the inserted section of it here?
Check out my site where you can get many of my downloads here.

I think I figured it out. I had to copy the
<BFNamedBinder binderName="texController" required="1"> all the way to </BFNamedBinder>
and was supposed to put it after the </shared> but I thought it was supposed to go after the <shared> and it made the whole xml files not work at all.
I tested it and it works fine now!
