I'am making a Tarbosaurus from the T. rex with A.C.T. (Animal Creation Tutorial) but I've run into two problems; (1.) A.C.T. does not tell my how to making fossils for the Dino. (2.) I can't quiet undestand the part about eggs(5-Entities folder 2c), it tells me to look for its egg files, but all I can find are Dinosaur Nest files. And what's the jazz of keeping same number of characters? I need some advice please! |

I did what you said, I found that I did spell Tarbosaurus: Tarobsaurus a couple times, so I fixed those. But when I entered the game, it was not in the menu anymore. Say, I downloaded a JPDilophosaurus from Zoo Tek Phoenix a while back, and it works in the lab. Would it be alright if I use that is a reference....not to copy anything, but use to compare my files to see if I Have everthing?

Generally it is a good idea to ask the creator to use their files before you go looking through, but usually they don't mind as long as you don't copy anything like you said

Ok, I think I'll wait before I look though MarineManiac's JPDilophosaurus. Anyway, I did everything A.C.T. told me to do, but I think it is a little out of date, because it only has files up to Arfican Adventure. Is'nt there a tutorial on how to make marine and extinct animals? |

Yes, you just have to gather the files yourself from x200_000.z2f for MM and x210_000.z2f for EA. |

I know where the files are, its just the coding I trouble with... well, there is one file I can't find; the .nif file for the gift. The only .nif file for gifts I find was the Triceratops Gift. Are the rest stored some where else, or are they .bfb files? Edited: I found the gift file it is a .bfb file. I also figured out the egg part, but all my files are messed up. I'am going to start from the beginning. I think I'll focus on getting the Tarbosaurus to work in the game before I add the lab files.

Ok, things are better now but I still have a few problems which I'll explain one at a time. First of all; the Tarbosaurus icon appears in the menu, but both the male and female animals is invisible and when I place it the game crashs. How do I fix this? |

I already checked the Common Animal problems, in fact, I looked at it as I was coding. The Tarbosaurus is still invisible and it crashes when placed! is there another thing I'm forgeting that causes invisible and crashing?

It definitely has something to do with the nif or bfm. Did you edit the nif? How did you edit the bfm? Or if you are using a bfb did you edit it? |

No, I did not edit the model in the .nif file itself, but did open it with a hexediter and replaced TyrannosaurusRex_M.dds with Tarbosaurus______M.dds (I put in more underscores because Common Animal Problems; it said in a hexediter, you need to keep the same number of characters). As for the .bfm, I only changed in notepad the first line above the animations to: <BFM modelname="entities\units\animals\Tarbosaurus\Tarbosaurus_Adult_M.NIF"> And the the first line below the animations to: <Graph name="Tarbosaurus_Adult_M" version="1"> Are these Correct? |
