The model is a different format to the ZT2 .nifs I would import it into blender, 3dsMax etc.. and export as the suibtable version with a plugin (nif format list link here http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Nif_F.../Nif_Resources) |

ASo you're saying it's a different type of NIF model? What is the correct NIF type? |

No, I think he (or she) means it is a different file type completely. It is a different model file. If you can import it into blender, then you may be able to save it as a NIF. ZT2 uses NIFs, and these models must use a different format. |

I opened it in NIFscope and it's extension is .NIF. |

Right, when you click on the model, a grid should appear on it. Also, a line on the left hand window should be selected. What does it say? |

Indeed a grid appears. The window has "Editable Mesh" Highlighted. |

Under that, but not definitely the next one down, is there a line saying NiTriStripsData? Or is it NiTriShapeData? |

Only some NIF types are compatible with ZT2, you can't just import them willy nilly, you have to convert them to a suitable NIF type, though I can't remember off the top of my head which type it is. |

I make scenery, not mesh/convert objects, there's no need to be snarky. I know that penguinman knows what NIF type it has to be but I'm afraid I haven't seen him about lately so you'll have to wait for him to drop by and post. |

I think if you import the nif into 3dsmax or blender and then export it as a 10.0.1.0 version of the nif file it should work. You will need the nif plugin for which ever program you use. For 3dsmax, when you export as a nif a box should appear and where it says something like: nif version: 4.0.2.0 simply replace it with the ZT2 nif version (10.0.1.0). I'm not so sure if I can tell you how to export in Blender at the moment, I don't have the program and it can be tricky to do so I would recommend using 3dsmax (the trial unless you already have it) it doesn't eat the file size and in my experience it's easier. |

Thank you Komodo, that is the correct NIF type that ZT2 uses I believe ![]() As for exporting and importing NIFs into Blender, I believe it requires a set of NIFTools plugins of some sort. |
