Making an animal and I need someone to tell me exactly how to seperate males and females. The female has a different model and a different skin. |

Do you mean the animal you are making has a different female model and skin? If that's the case you need to go into your animal's female ai file in entities and just rename the extensions so that it routes it to your new female model. |

All else I'll say other than that it's from FF (it's a secret animal) is that it is made from the Komodo dragon. I want to change it so the male uses a different model and skin from the female. The seperate icons seem to work though. |

Well what you should do is find the code that gives the link to the model file. Then, copy and paste it into the adult_m and adult_f files and edit it accordingly. It can be very difficult to get the right bits of coding though... You have to make sure that all the tags are closed -- open it in a web browser after you do it. |

I have a similar question now: How do I make males and females share skins and models? |

Well, it depends on what you're working with ( .nifs or .bfbs; not really though). But all you do is save the model file that you like the same as it would be for female. For example, if you like the male's model and want the female to have the same model, all you do is save that .nif or .bfb as the female file Adult_F instead of Adult_M. After that you need to go into the .bfm and make sure it is referring back to the file that you just saved. Now what you have to do is go into your animal's entities/units/animals/ai files. You need to look into your ai files and search for anything ending with .bfm. This just makes sure that your .bfm is linked to the correct place. Now to have them have the same skins, you need to also go into these same ai files and change the links to the skins. For example, if you have a female skin that you would like to incorporate onto the male, all you need to do is go into the male's ai file and change the texture extension ( this is what links the skin to the model) to what the female's skin name would be. Basically just put in the female skin's name in replace of the male's Hope this helps.
