Over the last week, I saw so many excellent meshed animals. It even looked easy.

I understand that meshing is a somewhat new technique at animal-making and it's full of twists.

Anyway, I was wondering where I can get help on how to mesh. Steenbok's MDC was closed down and I can't find a good place for help.

I searched this site, as well as a few others, but couldn't find anything.

Any help will be wonderfull. Thanks

Meshing is a very difficult thing to learn unless you know how to model already. To tell you the truth, a lot of people have found out themselves how to do it rather than finding out by tutorials, which personally I find to be much more awarding. I don't know of any tutorials at all if existing but we also don't really give too much support on meshing either, its still a new concept that like you said, "has many twists".

If you're new to designing I would highly recomend you try out coding and skinning before even attempting meshing. A LOT of people who were new to designing have attempted it, couldn't do it, and gave up designing as a whole since they thought they were no good. I'm not saying do skinning and coding first, I'm just saying doing so would be a lot easier on you. Try viewing the top of the forum where many links and resources are located to help you in ZT2 creation :)

This may sound stupid, but I personally find Meshing a lot like Skinning. It takes a while to get good at it, to make a decent model/skin you have to try things out to see how it looks, and occasionally you make a mistake that makes you want to start again. I think if you can skin, (not necessarily great, but if you have the patience) you will find it easier to handle the time and effort involved with Meshing. Right now, there will be some people who can help you, but even so, I figured out with minimal help (I read a topic by Littlemog which mentioned about nodes in NifSkope at ZA), but by messing around in there I got some results! But yes, like catc said, try Coding and Skinning first. For those you're probably in the best place on the internet|! ;)

Crazy designer of all things marine!
Well I'll give you personal tip. Make sure you actually make some projects before you start meshing. That's what I did, and I pulled off some great projects. When I attempted meshing and found out that I couldn't do it, I was very disheartened, but then I remembered some of the un-meshed projects I did, and it gave me the inspiration to keep on going. So instead of trying to be a great designer in all fields, I'll settle and strive to make great projects that are not meshed. Basically its what kind of designer are you. Not everyone can do meshing, but some people can do some really awesome projects with meshing. So remember make some projects before you mesh

Thanks for the Help everyone.

I understand meshing is a difficult step on animal making. I am considering trying. Though it's hard, I believe I can get around the twists and turns. Just as catc said, I gotten used to coding and skinning. I got the art of basic coding down (as far as getting an animal ingame, along with custom map locations) and I've skinned some animals (look for my projects thread).

Steenbok28 - I pretty much am used to skinning (I use GIMP), and having used some modeling programs before, I think I can try meshing. Oddly, to me, it doesn't seem that hard.
