I do not think these skins will work in game, vitani. You have to use the skins provided in the game as a reference, and it is best to generally paint over a copy of the skin taken from the game. Do you know how to find and extract skins from the game? If not, you may want to look at how to find the skins by reading the Variant tutorial, here: http://z14.invisionfree.com/ZT2_Designing_...?showtopic=1210 |

Okey dokey, im trying to make a varient for the lion, but im having issues. It is of my character, Gold. Here's my problem: Okay, I created a folder tiltled ZT2 where I would put my creations. I got the skin, recolored it, and saved it properly as a .z2f file. I get this little ZT2:MM icon in my folder, just like the ones i get when I download things. I copy and paste it into my real folder for Zoo Tycoon 2, ya know, the one you paste downloads into? I strat up the game, place down a bunch of lionesses but.. no Gold varient What happened? The skin: ![]() The Character ![]() Tried my best.. |

Well when you open the .z2f file you created with the skin, what is the first thing you see? |

It's not as simple as just saving the file as a .z2f. The skin should be saved as a DDS file. The skin needs to go inside a folder called Lion, and Lion should be inside animals, and animals should be inside units, and units inside entities, and then you should right click on entities, and zip that into a .z2f. Your file structure should look like this: entities/units/animals/Lion/Lion_M.dds |

Thanks for showing the screens, that makes things so much easier! The problem is that when you open the .z2f file, the first thing you should see is the entities folder. Meaning, you need to right click on the entities folder instead of the .dds file and say add to archive. Does this make sense? |

Well everything else is right, so as long as you fix your .z2f so that it is made from the entities folder, it will show up
