I have no clue how to install it still. I would click on the installation instruction and it would freeze since its an ftp: not http: By the way, would it be illegal to email Microsoft and ask? |

I know, I'd just thought I'd throw it out there, in case  I used to have an email address for emailing BF ideas for expansion packs ( it was one of those email address that few people knew about, and you had to really research it on the BF web site) but it was a no response kind of thing also. We should try to email BF anyways and see if they release any info. |

I am a bit offended, I was NOT critisizing Artifex, I love it all. I was just saying I wish they'd tell us their secret. I did not mean to critisize it, I am just saying that I wish they would tell us how. I did not mean to critisize at all! |

Actually EVERY modern PC uses DOS - its the language running in the background of your computer! The Operating Systems are basically just a translation of that language. That's why you can't install XP on a Mac or OS X on a PC - PC's speak "DOS" and Mac's speak "Darwin" |

Visit my website, where you can view and download my work! You can call me Mika. Please don't PM me asking about IE. ![]()

As far as i know, ralcgm is meant to open different type of bfb files. While bfb files in ZT2 i believe is created by in-house programmers in Blue Fang so only they know how to open and edit it. I have an idea to create our own nif file for the marine animals. Suppose we want to make a dolphin.nif file so first we open the dolphin.bfb file and learn the structure of the bone (Bip01 etc ). Then we open an existing nif file of an animal (maybe komodo) then we rename the bone names (Bip 01 etc) of the komodo.nif file to be the same with the bone structure of the dolphin. Next we mesh the komodo to look like the dolphin and voila! we have a dolphin.nif file. Later we can use the existing dolphin animation file for it. But it's just an idea i havent got time to try it yet. Anyone want to try? |

I know. I was just setting a precedent so that no other members would come in and use this topic as a bash session. Sorry if it came out wrong. papapanda, I have tried combining the dolphin_emote and the dolphi.bfb, although not the way you have described it. I'll give it a go though. Or i could learn how to make a .nif file and just add in what needs to be added in for the .bfb and rename it .nif |

MarineManic, sorry I read this post so late. I was facinated on your Pygmy Killer Whale. I just wanted to know how did u made it individual because I think you based that animal off from False Killer Whale. I'm working on Atlantic White-Sided Dolphin based off from Hour Glass Dolphin. I finished skinning and coding except bfm file. So when I put the two animals, the icons in animal menu shows, but when I place one of each, they're same! ![]() Later, I tried to edit the bfm file and I edited it. I fixed 'entities\units\animals\hourglassdolphin\hourglassdolphin_Adult_F.nif' part. I heard that in order to make it individual, you have to change .nif file. When I searched for hourglassdolphin_Adult_F.nif to change, there wasn't that file. -> I heard later that marine animals don't have .nifs. So I desparately tried to make it individual, but all failed except one. When I tried again, my animal had the skin that I made, but it doesn't move -> just floating on the water. While the original hourglass does fine. Your Pygmy Killer Whale that was from False Killer Whale is not like my Atlantic White-Sided Dolphin does. How can I make my animal move originally and have the right skin? Can you help me plz? |

You need to code the BFM file to make your animal work. For an animal to be seperate from the original it must use a different codename. |
