Hi all. Most of you don't even know me, and I doubt you will get a chance to know me. It's not your fault - it is ZT2. (More on that below)

I've completed two rather minor hacks, and want to release them to the community to use however you see fit. Use them when playing, or as a source for other mods, or just throw them away. I'll release these into Public Domain if someone can upload them here.

The two hacks are:

zFixSuina - fixes hippos, pigs (warthogs), and peccaries to not chew their cud. (I know there are no peccaries yet, but this hack still fixes them.)

zHackWorldLocs - Adds a bit of flavor to the globe by spreading out the Tundra zoos (ANWR, Canada, Siberia, etc.) and moving the Polar Coast zoo to the coast.

Both include detailed Readme files explaining what I modified and how, which may be of use to other designers.

These hacks were side-projects addressing issues I discovered while working on my main (never to be released) project. I've only been working with ZT2 for a short time, but I am growing much too frustrated with it. Sure, the files can be a pain to figure out, but that's part of the fun of modding.

I just think an educational sim would show things like penguins tending to eggs instead of just walking away, or the differences between herds and packs and so on. I also get to watch animals walk through each other a lot while testing out my designs. Sigh.

I could go on, but I probably said enough already for a site devoted to ZT2. After all, some people love this game, which is why I want to release what little I did - maybe it will add a bit more flavor, reality, and enjoyment for someone, or be the start of some other designer's killer mod.

p.s. I am uncertain if it is OK to just attach the files here since there is a specific download section.

Our real zoo (apartment) has too many critters (pets) to list here.

I for one think your ideas are excellent. I've often wished that the game were a little more "educational"! :)
