OK, the coding should begin shortly on the Taur, does anyone want to re-colour it? And the Barbary Sheep is nearly complete

Yah well, for better or for worse, I'm back I'm scrapping all my old projects as I got in too much of a muddle with them; all that is except my painted reed frog. Annoyingly, although this worked perfectly in the past (it was, for a time at least, downloadable exclusively here) it no longer seems to, so suggestions may well be needed please. The frog itself seems to function just fine still, zoopedia runs etc. BUT nothing shows up. I have the infamous problem where the animal is selectable yet inviscible (yet is there, as it complains about biome/food and produces poop etc.) I have checked the .BFM file thoroughly and this may be the cause of the problem; it seems that I used a Golden Dart Frog as the base for the reed frog and whoever coded it changed quite a lot of the animations etc. although THAT animal worked fine so I still am not totally convinced. I wondered if it was the lack of Xtrat's original bull frog on my new PC, or perhaps me running Vista and not the XP it was coded for, that are the problems. I also didnt have AA back then, could that have changed it at all? I mean I dont even see frogs around these days, did one of the exps. make them redundant or something? I would really like to get it back working again as it was my first completed animal and one of my old favourites. Any help greatly appreciated.

Well thanks I guess, although their aren't many of them (yet ;)) Hopefully once EA and MM come (ordered yesterday) I can start really getting to grips with all this again. As for now, any got any ideas yet about the frog? |

:: Project Update :: Prehistoric Rodent Walks Again! A mysterious, semi-aquatic animal larger than a black bear has been reported in zoos around the world. Eye-witness descriptions place the beast at over three metres long with a large, rounded tail, a pointed face and huge front incisors. Investigators looking into these strange tales have confirmed the existance of a prehistoric mammal that lived before the last Ice Age in North America and Canada; a rodent, no less, that was perfectly adapted for existance both in and out of the water and that, if alive today, would be a lumberjacks worst nightmare. This photograph, taken in a small zoo near the Canadian border, allowed the scientists to classify the animal once and for all: ![]() This behemoth, cousin to rats and other things that go squeak, is known simply as the Giant Beaver! Animal Information The Giant Beaver was found throughout the North American continent, spreading south possibly into Mexico and North as far as Alaska where remains have recently been uncovered. In shape it was very similar to its modern relatives, although the tail would have been thinner in proportion to the body and the hips less rounded giving it a slightly squashed look. It may also have had larger front teeth, though this is debated. Coloration is unknown, though would have been similar to modern forms, but those available for your zoos have shown darker patches within the same mix of browns that todays beavers enjoy. Like most modern beavers, the Giant Beaver is thought to be a lodge builder; one such giant lodge was unearthed in Ohio (incidentally the state was where remains were first found giving the rodent its latin name of Castoroides Ohioensis) which measured a full four foot in height and eight foot in width and was made almost solely from small, 6 inch saplings. The reason for its extinction following the last Ice Age is unknown; a change in climate and the introduction of humans as competitors are both argued, though there is little evidence that they were hunted or even came into contact with mankind before extinction. Additional Information can be found here: Giant Beaver Wiki Animal Details This was a project I've kept relatively secret about for a few reasons, primarily as it is pretty basic and more a way of getting to grips with coding all over again. As such I wasn't totally certain I would release it but I am really pleased with the outcome so just can't not ![]() I tried to make it as realistic as possible so meshed the model slightly just to get the characteristic "thin" tail and squater body right and the skin was made using modern wetlands animals like the mink and artists impressions of the giant beaver. I have also made sure the gift (a beaver backpack) is fully working as shown here: and made some minor changes to the code so that little details like being able to use the scratching post and eating roots (if you have EA installed) are correct (I even finally managed to work out how to get the right kind of "poop" - making it medium rather than small :P) Release and Future Plans I am planning on making this available at my up-coming site, possibly exclusively. However I also want this to be as perfect as possible so would love some "beta testers" (of sorts) to run a zoo using the animal and help me find any glitches. If anyone is interested please leave a message here or pm me. I have no issue sending it out to a few people (but no more than five :P) so if you've always wanted a Giant Beaver this is the easiest way to get one until my site comes online (could be a month or more) but I will want a report back. Hopefully there won't be any bugs or anything, but I want to be sure. I may also in the future (or before official release) add a couple of variant skins and maybe make a specific Giant Branches item for them (although currently I feel normal beaver lodges are large enough). If anyone has any suggestions as well post here ![]() Screenshots :: :: :: ::--------------- Other Projects I'm working heavily on a few more projects at the moment. You all know of one, the Painted Reed Frog which is still undergoing tweaking. I have also revived one of my older projects, the Walia Ibex, as coding was pretty much complete anyway. As well as these I have a few secret projects going on and am working on my own site as well
