You open a .bfb file with a hex editor and a matreal file with notepad. Its kinda long, but inside the bfb are the names of the matereals files so, like in a nif, you have to change these so they stay the same length and then rename the matereals as well. Then inside the matereals are places for the .dds file names. |

well, hopefully cleessburg will find out whats wrong, though as I didnt change enything WITHIN those files. I am doing so now, but the bfb opened with notepad? so i edited it in notepad? could this affect anything. couldnt find much to anything in the files within the materials folder to change either. When I tested, it fixed the flashing skin problem, but only be default as now my mushroomes are invisible, and have no name. no zoopedia (no change there then) but also no physical parts. The only thing that works is the icon, and that looks rather good i feel  |

Okay, I've sent them back to you, and everything, including the zoopedia, works fine now. You did a rather good job, actually. I've given you the explanation as to what I fixed and why. It was that you didn't edit the BFB files, nor did you change the 'texture' line in the materials files. Also, one place for the zoopedia you had written mushrooms instead of mushroomes, which is why that didn't work. All works now.

Thanks csleesburg! I'll have to take a look at those bfb files, after sending you the mushroomes penquinman told me to edit them, i did so and the mushroom became inviscible! Still, thanks, and I'm gonna try making another bit of foliage for my frog as well now, which i'll try and do myself. Just one question (you must be getting sick of me by now!) I've seen some people edit animal models, just slightly, and picked up something about alpha channels and 2-D parts of a model? Well, to make it short, I want to edit a tree, cut into its stump a bit, and was wondering if i could do this and if so how? (i ask cos I've noticed plants are just re-generating 2-D laid onto 3-D planes) EDIT: is there any way to change the biome of plants? |

You're welcome! Glad they're finally working now. Yes, you can easily change the biome of a plant, just as one does for an animal - in the ai file. The alpha channel for plants CAN be edited, but I've only been partially sucessful at doing that. I would suggest you ask Penguinman for a much better explantion than I could give you. |

Glad it works now, and make sure you open a .bfb with a hex editor NOT notepad. About the alpha, what you have described is not possible since no .dds file encompases the whole tree except when you are VERY far from it. |

Hmmm, I've been trying to get my toadstools to change biomes, but they stubbornly refuse. I cant think why, if I inputted a location that doesnt exist for the BFGLocation would it ignore it and revert back to what was previouly there without changin the code? |

You also have to change the single line under the location line. |

yes, probably. update on my ibexes: I'm making the barbary sheep and taur if people dont know, and so far have the barbary sheep coded just having some problems recolouring, and will be coding the taur next week. Should be looking at my 'shrooms again this weekend, if they wont work then I'll submit my frog and info board here on Sunday (if you want them  ). My whitebacked Peafowl is also nearly done, recolouring is complete and I should be testing the code this weekend. HOWEVER, i have my GCSE art exam next mon/tuesday (2 day exam) so if i fail to meet these deadlins im sorry, but RL comes first. I also need to get four pieces minimum of artwork done by monday, so thats what most of my weekend will be taken up doing (and unfortunately recolouring animals doesnt count as art, I've checked <_< ) |
