Love Psychedelico Your Song Last Smile Shakalabbits Duzzling Soup Shonen to Shiroi Inu Spitz (They were very popular in 90s) Cherry Sora mo toberu hazu Mad Capsule Markets Midi Surf Chaos Step Monkey Majik (They consist of 2 Canadians & 2 Japaneses) Sora wa maru de Around the World Chitose Hajime (She's a pop singer but very unique in that she sings with traditional singing style of Amami island.) Wadatsumi no Ki (Not a PV) Katari tsugu koto Anri Kumaki(I dunno much about her but I love this song) Atarashii Watashi ni Natte |

Another Love Psychedelico fan!! It's pretty rare... I've listened their new album too...but I prefer their old works. When I first listened YUI's Marry-Go-Round, I thought it sounded like Love Psychdelico. |

^ what about Help!? Lol The Beatles. Their newer stuff is more 'easy to listen' I suppose, not much fancy stuff going on. Still like it, I'm more of a album person. That Mad Capsule Markets is MAD lol. Never heard of them before that. |

well, I'll recommend Kobukoru, their songs are nice. (especially tsubomi) Mink would be nice to listen to also, she does have powerful vocal. well, other than that, you should try Yuna Ito out, she's one in my top 3 list. Utada Hikaru, heard of her? she is one of the "queen" in Jpop~ never disappointed me with her strong, powerful ballad. and most importantly, MUST TRY!!! MIKA NAKASHIMA i fell in love with her couple of years ago. her songs are guaranteed NICE~ :good |

Sorry for late reply. I was busy studying. Plus there’s a ton of replies and replying back takes a while, but I'm very glad and thankful. Where should I start... @pinkylily123: The GazettE is pretty cool. They kind of remind me of Dir en Grey. Chizuru sounds awesome. Is the PV made for a Korean movie or something? I only listened to Antic Café’s Kakusei Heroism (which is awesome), but damn Rinne de Tsumi is sweet. Wagamama Koushinkyouku is pretty good too. Ermm, one of them dress kinda funny >_>. Well, all I’ll say is that it’s the songs that count! Okay, I’m definitely gonna look into Jun Manaka. She sounds awesome and promising. Sadly, I didn’t really like Tommy Heavenly6 =/. Thanks for replying =). @zenaku: I'm familiar with Jinn since I listened to their Lemmings album before. As for NIRGILIS, I've listened to SNOW KISS and Sakura, but that's it =/. NIRGILIS didn't really appeal to me. AKFG, I'm also familiar with but I don't really know a lot of their songs since I only know the ones from anime >_>. Ellegarden is pretty awesome... I love Yubiwa and enjoyed Salamander. Didn't like Red Hot since it kind of sounds so... I dunno, American? I think I'll listen to Straightener. Went searching for some PVs and I liked Rocksteady, A Song Runs Through the World and Melodic Storm. Pay Money to My Pain is awesome too, but a little adrenaline rushing. Thanks a bunch! @vivi: Okay, definitely listening to Love Psychedelico. Shakalabbits didn't really grab my attention, but I gotta admit... They're pretty unique lol. I think I'll try out Spitz. Sora mo Toberuhazu caught my eye. Errm, Mad Capsule Markets's Midi Surf is >_>. Don't think I'll listen to them XD, sorry. MONKEY MAJIK is awesome! I can't believe I've never heard about them. Sora wa Maru de is a good song, but I didn't like the PV lol. I'll also give Chitose Hajime a try. Thanks =). @atheon: GO!GO!7188 is pretty awesome. Base Ball Bear sounds good, but didn’t grab my attention. The bassist is a girl, how awesome XD. The only thing I didn’t like about Tokyo Jihen was the vocals >_>. Thanks~ @CCDDSS: Kobukuro’s Tsubomi is very relaxing. I’ll look into them. The music video’s shadow puppets are cool XD. I might get into Yuna Ito. I really liked Endless Story and Truth. I had heard about Utada Hikaru back in 7th grade or so, but never got into her. Her songs just never appealed to me =/. But then again, I never really tried her :>. Thanks! L'Arc-en-Ciel's DAYBREAK'S BELL is really good. I'm starting to like them. Any album recommendations or singles collections from them? I need some opinions on WANDS, Field of View, Hitomi Yaida, m-flo, FLOW, Hoshimura Mai, MISIA, and UVERworld. Anyway, more recommendations would be cool (not just j-rock, but whatever you guys think sound good). Thanks! Sorry for wall of text. |

I listen to almost every kind of Japanese music, so I'll recommend one band for each music genre I can think of. Rock ムック(MUCC) - They exist for more than 10 years already and released a "BEST of MUCC" (modern MUCC) and a "WORST of MUCC" (old MUCC) album a while ago. They started off as a heavy visual angura(underground) kei band, but kept becoming more mainstream over the years. But they're anything but repetitive, you should check out their album "Gokusai". I'm sure you'll find something which suits your taste. Zetsubou: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlL83ffFhvw Utagoe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nfqa1p5I46c Libra: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJiIVv-HyhI These three pvs should be enough to show you how much MUCC changed over the years and still keeps on changing. Rock/Hip-Hop/Punk Dragon Ash - They also exist for more than 10 years and they've released 8 albums plus a 2-cd best of album. Their music range is impressive, Rock, R&B, Hip-Hop, Punk, Latino, everything you want. They're a living legend in Japan. Deep Impact: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPJo20CvuE Shizuka na Hibi no Kaidan wo (Ending theme of Battle Royale): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpsEJOryZ7U Life goes on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-w7G9ALc4k Pop Shimokawa Mikuni - Anime fans should know her already, since she sang the theme songs for the Full Metal Panic series, Grenadier and many more. I've been listening to her for years now, she may seem ordinary at first, but her songs are very sweet and pure. Sore ga ai deshou: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO_R8X0jQsg Minami Kaze: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgOnPFtP7PU Kohaku: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OBy-MrojGo Sorry, some of the videos are amvs, I couldn't the original videos on youtube. She isn't as well-known as she deserves to be. Enka Natsukawa Rimi - My favorite Enka artist. Her "Nada Sou Sou" is the best Enka song imo. Nada Sou Sou: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hqtUBJbW5M Yanawaraba~ - A pretty new duo singing pop songs with traditional instruments. Very nice and soothing. 拝啓○○さん http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GarPRTO9fsU Rin' - Another band using traditional instruments in their songs. But these three also combine their voices in a perfect way. It's a perfect fusion of vocals, instruments - perfection imo. Sakitama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICkPs-xlgpY Last but not least, this is the song I've been hooked on for the last few days. It's damn addictive. Kaerouka by Mihimaru GT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbSwed7ZYb4 |

I would really love to recommend Aya Hirano ^^. She's very known in the anime industry. She's very well know as the voice actor of Haruhi Suzumiya of "Haruhi Suzumiya no yuutsu" and Konata Izumi of "Lucky Star". She's also know from singing the OP, ED and inserted songs of animes like Haruhi Suzumiya no yuutsu. Her songs totally rocks! Her songs ''Lost My Music'' (One of my favorite ^_^), ''Glitter'' (B-side of the LOVE GUN'', ''NEOPHILIA'', ''Hare Hare Yukia'' and the pop-rock ballad ''God Knows...'' (Also my favorite ^_^) are just one of her coolest songs. But probably my most favorite (and recommended) is the song LOVE GUN. It's a really cool, cheerful (a bit crazy but fun) pop-rock song :clap and the PV is really cool too! (She's soooooo pretty on the PV :clap She's like Avril Lavigne on the video). |

@ YUI-ism : Have you ever heard Judy and Mary, LUNA SEA, and Siam Shade? They're all disbanded, but have a huge fans even until now. If you like cheerful pop-rock music, you'll like Judy and Mary. If you like X Japan, probably you'll like LUNA SEA. And if you like westernish rock band, I suggest you try Siam Shade. :good O yeah, someone mentioned SPITZ. They're awesome, if you like Mr. Children, you have to try it! :hee |
