here

maybe some1 else has already posted it, and maybe oso a little too late to find this, haha.. but this editors comments is infuriarting! some comments though negative but i feel holds true. but others especially this

The film leans more heavily towards the "falling in love" part, which also means it falls victim to hopelessly mawkish moments, like the karaoke video-worthy scene of the pair exploring the city at night with Yui's music as the backdrop.

There is an interesting scene where Takashi laments the fact that he's fated to lead a normal life and die a normal death ? a worry that rings true for so many of us.

But if learning to transcend the ordinary means learning to love someone with an illness so rare it borders on fiction, then where's the realism?

Those even mildly familiar with Asian cinema will be able to predict the ending.

Of course, that has never stopped film-makers from making and re-making these types of films, and it certainly won't be a deterrent to audiences who want their tragic romance fix.

Death and the healing

maybe the person who wrote this review doesn't really love YUI as much as we do. it's definitely frustrating to read. besides, this movie is about YUI, a cute singer whom we are curious about how she acts in a movie for the first time. this 'type' of review is to be expected from a free newspaper.

lol... the review is somewhat true. The movie's a tearjerker, but it's definitely not one of the best movies around. The plot, though sad and bittersweet, is pretty generic and fairly predictable (the illness and death thing has been quite overdone in the Asian drama scene). But yeah, even though it's not that great, Yui's the cutest thing ever, and we know we're all watching it because of her, so what the heck? XD

Mr. Cynical

did we seriously bought the dvd because it was a great film?

haha
i thought we bought it for YUI instead

it was a decent film, not groundbreaking. YUI was just there to enhance it and wow us :blush
