Power chords are wayyy easier.. less painful too! But if you're playing a fast hardcore rock song, your wrist might get really tired if you use downward strumming. x_x Yes, barre chords do sound better, but harder to play. :( I'm trying to play LIFE song everyday to get used to teh feeling. My index finger is totally red now.. haha. I guess I like both equally. :swt |

I like barre chords better because they sound better on acoustic, which is what I mostly play. I play electric sometimes, but not as much as acoustic :) |

ehhh...i didn't really vote...but to me, i don't really favor one over the other...they both have their strong points...although i do tend to use barre chords more on the acoustic and power chords more on the electric...that's just how the cookie crumbles...haha actually, barre chords can be a lil' more flexible (set up to do more stuff with it...for ex: playing lead, soloing, etc...) peace@ |

when playing power chords, use your other fingers to mute the other strings. thats what i usually do to get a clean play. anyway, bar chords are the best. i like the sound of it. |
