So apparently they are quite popular. My friend kept asking me to try their songs, but he don't know much on music, i.e. he doesn't know how to explain this band. Just wondering if any of you know how they are like and what kind of songs they make, without any of those professional reviews online. Just your personal comments. |

Ketsumeishi is one of my favorite Japanese groups!!! Their music is mainly hip-hop/reggae (but their mixture of hip-hop and reggae is far different from a group like Def Tech that mixes the same genres too). The group consists of two rappers, one vocalist, and a DJ. So far, they have four albums, and they are all very good. Their most popular song to date would have to be "Sakura". :) |

I was introduced to Sakura too. According to my friend, they were the among the top best selling albums for an entire year. I personally does not like American rap, hip-hop and mainstream pop, so I may have to pass on this (after I try Sakura at least). Thanks for your input though, helpful info. |

"Sakura" is one of my favorite songs too!! My other all-time FAVORITE Ketsume songs would "Tomodachi" and "Kachoufuugetsu". Check them out, Scarletdeath before you make a final decision if you want to listen to more Ketsumeishi or not.

So, I tried Sakura. That track alone, has earned my respects for them. Their work is not exactly like the usual crap like American rap. Ketsu's are more melodious than the American counterpart, and can be said as not entirely rap, which is great. I absolutely cannot stand American rap, and I have to admit Ketsu is incredible. Their rough voice alone makes their songs sound hardcore, which is also my type of vocals. That, plus a mix of guitar in some tracks, and and the semi slow music won me over. After listening to the tracks from Zin and BC, I went on ahead to download their discography. I can understand why you three said what you said. I'm glad I had you to convince me to try it. |

This group is good, I like their song "Sakura" the most. Anyways, they had no releases at all in 2009, so I hope they come back this year with something new! WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO COME BACK, KETSUMEISHI! |
