GIMP BRUSHES!

Well, seeing as how a few of you have the GIMP program, but don't know exactly how to download new brushes for it, I'm here to help you out with your problem.

First off, make sure all GIMP windows are closed.

Second, if you're not already on it, pull up firefox or IE (Tries to hold laugh...), but I'm pretty sure you already have your browser running since you're reading this guide. Go to Google, on another tab of course, and search "Brushes for GIMP". click on the first link on there.

Posted Image

It should take you to a page like this or something similar to it.

Posted Image

Click on "All Time". It should show you pages and pages of different brushes. When you have selected a brush you want, click it and it should take you to another page like this.

Posted Image

It doesn't have to necessarily have to be exactly like this. The graphic on the side will show the brushes you are downloading. Click on "Download". *Note, if you are using firefox, a window will pop up and show you what you have downloaded. Double-Click the file you have download. It should take you to a window like this.

Posted Image

If it shows a folder, open the folder and you should get this. Click "extract files". You will now get a window like this.

Posted Image

Before you get this window, you will see a window that says Extraction wizard or something like that... Next, click browse. Click on My Computer -> Presario (C:) -> Documents and Settings -> Compaq_Owner -> .gimp 2.2 (Or whatever version you're running.) -> Brushes. DO NOT click on any of the files under brushes. It WILL erase any brushes you have saved under that file. A file will automatically be made for that brush set. Click "OK"

Posted Image

Click "Next" on the Extraction Wizard. Once the brushes have been fully downloaded, uncheck "Show Extracted Files" and clicked "Finish"

Posted Image

After that, open up GIMP and wait 'til it's fully loaded. Look in the "Brushes" section and you should see your downloaded brushes there.

Q&A:

Q: Why didn't my brushes show up on GIMP?
A: I wish I had one. (haha) Sometimes, some files don't get fully converted to GIMP, so if it didn't show on your brushes, it might be that.

Due to the economic status of the country and world, not many of us can afford photoshop. Others don't want to illegally download it cuz they might download a virus with it. -.-
