Section 1 – Article 1: Basis of Unity
Be it known that the Guardians of Guthix is a clan devoted to Guthixian philosophy which finds roots in the search for balance. Neither righteousness nor villainy is supreme; each depends upon the other to thrive. It is in this understanding that the Guardians of Guthix peruse balance and the guidance of the creator, Guthix.
Be it known that the Guardians of Guthix choose:
-Fair and balanced leadership over tyranny.
-Harmony amongst the membership and leadership and to equate power
-Free association with any ideal, belief and opinion.
-To enjoy the benefits of their membership into the Guardians of Guthix as they choose so long as their actions comply with the preceding and following points.
Most importantly, be it known that the Guardians of Guthix are bound to uphold the guardians of Guthix Charter and to always seek balance.
Section 1 – Article 2: Hierarchy
Within the Guardians of Guthix there are seven tiers of membership:
-Triumvir: The highest level of authority within the clan divided amongst three individuals. The Triumvirs are administrators, moderators and have executive power to make any changes deemed necessary without exception.
-Tech Administrator: Elected into power when the Quadrumvirs need additional support with administrative powers, the Tech Admin has access to the Admin Cp. The Tech administrator also has the task of updating Runehead and keeping our recruitment topics alive.
-Event Coordinator: Entrusted with the duty of leading official GoG events and organizing them, the Event Coordinator also has the job of keeping ally relations alive. The Event Coordinator can also moderate the event forums.
-Moderator: Granted titles specific to their duty to the clan, the moderators are entrusted with the important responsibility of enforcing the Guardians of Guthix charter.
-Bringer of Balance: Members who have been voted by the clan as worthy of moderation powers for their devotion to the clan.
-Senior Member: Members who over a period of time have proven both their dedication and activity within the clan.
-Follower: The bulk of the Guardians of Guthix. These members are given all regular liberties to participate in all clan events and activities as well as full access to the Guardians of Guthix forums.
Section 1 – Article 3: Placement of positions within the hierarchy
The following is a statement of the ranks within the Guardians of Guthix moving from most important to least:
Triumvir>Tech Admin>Event Coordinator>Moderator>Bringer of Balance>Senior Member>Follower
Section 1 – Article 4: Triumvir
A Triumvir is the central authority within the Guardians of Guthix. Numbering in three, the Triumvirs are responsible for leading the Guardians of Guthix, developing policy, and developing and implementing a long term plan for the clan. While still being responsible to each other and all the members in the clan, whom they are in their position to serve, the Triumvirs are entrusted with absolute authority. Able to enforce the Charter of the Guardians of Guthix in whichever means they deem necessary for the greater good of the clan. In any situation, the Triumvirs’ word is final.
Section 1 – Article 5: Moderator
Bestowed with the duty of enforcing the Charter of the Guardians of Guthix, the Moderator must abide by the Charter strictly to bring balance and good measure to the clan. The Moderator is granted authority needed to maintain the Guardians of Guthix forum as well as discipline members who are in breach of the Charter. The Moderator answers directly to the Triumvir and can only obtain their position by appointment.
Section 1 – Article 6: Bringer of Balance
Part (A) – Becoming a Bringer of Balance
For a person to become a Bringer of Balance, they must meet several requirements to insure that they are truly of the highest pedigree. While all of the requirements may not necessarily need to be met, it is most advantageous for a would-be Bringer of Balance. The requirements are as followed:
-Dedication to the clan in an outstanding way, which far surpasses any regular expectation.
-Consistent activity with both in-game events and the forums.
-A minimum of 200 posts on the clan forums.
-A regular member of the clan for at least 62 calendar days.
-Proven abilities in assisting fellow members in times of strife and misfortune.
-Actively recruits new members.
-An exemplarly follower of Guthixian philosophy.
For a member to become a Bringer of Balance they must be nominated, defended and then sworn in by a Triumvir.
Part (B) – The Bringer of Balance nomination process
A member can be nominated for the position of Bringer of Balance by any member of the rank Bringer of Balance or higher.
1) Nominations take place on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
2-5) After the day of nomination there is a four-day period of defense in which all members of the clan are able to argue in favor or against any nominee; nominees may not take part in the defense. Any attempt by a nominee to take place in the defense will result in an unsuccessful nomination effective immediately. A nominee found taking part in the defense will not be allowed to be nominated for a period of 28 calendar days.
6) After the four day defense, a vote will be held by a Triumvir. Any attempt upon the behalf of a nominee to hold a vote will be unofficial and will render them ineligible for nomination for a period of 28 calendar days.
In the event that a member or group of members makes an attempt at libeling another member’s reasoning or the nominee(s) themself(ves), the offending party will be punished for undermining a process, which is intended to honor those who have contributed greatly to the Guardians of Guthix. All libeling parties will subjected to the following penalties:
- Temporary ban.
- Review of the offender’s membership.
- Inability to take part in any defense for a period of 28 calendar days.
- Inability to be nominated for a period of 35 calendar days.
In addition, a public statement concerning the guilty party’s offense will be issued on the behalf of the Triumvir so as to have the offense known.
7) On the seventh and final day of the nomination process a Triumvir will promote the victor and a swearing in ceremony will be held in the new Bringer of Balance’s honor.
In the event of an absence of nominees on the first or third Saturday of a given month, there will be no nominations. The Triumvirs are the sole judges of whether a member is deemed worthy of Bringer of Balance or not. In the event that a nominee does not wish to become a Bringer of Balance, they may notify a member of the Triumvirate that they decline their nomination. A member who has declined their nomination may take part in the defense.
Section 1 – Article 7: Senior Member
Those who have been loyal enough to remain with the clan for at least six months and have accumulated 400 or more posts in their stay are granted this position. Senior Members are allowed to access the Void and take part in it's discussions. Senior Members are expected to attempt their best to uphold the rules, and should receive utmost respect from newcomers to the clan.
Section 1 – Article 8: Event Coordinator
The Event Coordinator is elected by the members of the clan to lead and organize official events. The event coordinator also has the duty of organizing allied events and also the ability to declare wars.
Section 2 – Article 1: The Guthixian Code of Conduct
The Guthixian code of conduct exists to both outline the conduct expected of the members of the Guardians of Guthix as well as to create a precedent for how the code will be enforced.
It is each member’s duty, regardless of rank to:
-Uphold the Guardians of Guthix Charter.
-Insure the political stability of the Guardians of Guthix.
-Insure that each member is welcome, encouraged and allowed to participate in all areas of clan activity, and that no member of the Guardians of Guthix is prejudiced against without due cause.
-Insure that an abuse of power upon any level does not go unnoticed.
-Uphold a standard of quality in both language and use of language on the Guardians of Guthix message forums.
-Insure that no personal attack is ever made upon a member of the Guardians of Guthix by a member of the Guardians of Guthix.
-Refrain from discussion of any and all illegal substances and drugs.
-Not leave the clan, and if such is done, the ability to return will not be granted. (Special circumstances may apply.)
-Refrain from discussion of Runescape rulebreaking on the forums. This includes selling signatures, encouraging autoing, or anything breaching one of the fourteen rules of Runescape.
- Play Runescape fairly. Autoing of any form will not be tolerated. Anyone in the clan found autoing will receive punishment as severe as permanent banning. Ample proof must be provided to convict someone of this offense.
Section 2 – Article 2: Breaches to the Guthixian code of conduct
Part (A) – Normal circumstances
In the event that the Guthixian code of conduct has been breached, it is the role of the Guardians of Guthix moderation staff to see to a just and timely remedy to the situation. It is the sole decision of the moderator which actions will need to be taken to right any wrongs.
A moderator may do the following in order to maintain balance:
-Edit or delete a member’s post.
-Edit or delete a member’s thread or poll.
-Issue private warnings through the PM system.
-Issue public warnings in a reply or a topical thread.
-Lock a member’s thread.
-Ban a member for any period of time with just reason.
All disputes of a Moderator’s decisions must be handled privately between the moderation staff and the member. Failure to do so will be deemed an upset to the Guardians of Guthix’s political stability.
Section 3: Article 1: Event Activity
Part (A) - Followers and Senior Members
One who is a true follower/senior member must at least attend 1 event per 2 weeks, to ensure that you are keeping the Guardians alive. Failing to do so will first receive a warning, then a temporary ban from the Guardians, and failing to complete this a third time will result in you being exiled from the Guardians of Guthix. If you have outside activities preventing you from attend events, please let a Triumvir, Mod, or BoB know. Please be advised that you may only be excused for one period in a row, this is too keep people from avoiding the rule.
Part (B) - Bringers of Balance, Moderators, Event Coordinators, and Triumvirs
One who takes on a position of power must at least attend 1 event per 2 weeks, to ensure that you are fulfilling your duties in this position. Failing to do so will first receive a warning, then a temporary ban from the Guardians. On your third offense you will be demoted back to follower, and failing to comply with this rule a fourth time will result in you being exiled from the Guardians of Guthix. If you have outside activities preventing you from attending events, please let a Triumvir know. Please be advised that you may only be excused for one period in a row, this is too keep people from avoiding the rule.
Part (C) - Applying For Retired Status
One may bypass Part (A) and Part (B), which are stated above, by applying for Retired status. Be it known that anyone applying for this status must be completely inactive in runescape, and if they are to become active again they must alert a Triumvir immediately to be placed back on the active members list.
Bringers of Balance, Moderators, Event Coordinators and Triumvirs, please note that if you are to apply for retired status you will loose your rank and be demoted to a Retired member.
Section 3: Article 2: Forum Activity
All members of the Guardians of Guthix are expected to log onto the forums at least once per 30 days. Failing to do so will result in the removal of your account. To avoid being removed please ensure that you publicly post an inactivity notice prior to your leaving.
