I've been with Wolseley for nearly three months now, my how it's flown. My three man branch (me+one+driver) is now down to two due to holidays.

Flexible working as follows.

Answer phone, quote price, secure order.
Order materials check off delivery, pick order for delivery.
Load vehicle, print TMS manifest etc.

Then:
Serve on counter, pick orders, answer phone. (not always in that order)

(Aren't customers a pain!)

Unload feeder, check off and put away.

(Aren't customers a bloody nuisance)

Admin. Banking. back order report. admin. e-mails. admin. confirm tickets GP report. admin.
Margin. admin. serve on counter. etc, etc, etc.

(I wish the bloody customers would leave me alone!!!!)

I'M RUN BLOODY RAGGED!!!!

Thirteen hours a day and end up further behind than when I started.

I am obviously a very poor time manager.

So sorry.

Sorry to disappoint, driver got a measly £600 a year (cost of living increase!!!) piss poor. I got £600 less than he did.

New starter, salary fixed and non negotiable for 12 months (at least)

I would rather have a job than a few hours o/t our branch did £500k a month for the first two months of this year we are now doing just £300k a month and we all got a pay rise 3% each.
We all seem to be happy to have time off for starting early i think i will get an extra three weeks holiday this year 8 weeks in total bring on flexy time we say :D .

Can anyone tell me... If anyone knows... how can i increase my hours from a 40hour week to a 42.5hour week?

...ok, I've spoken to my b/s... no response (im not his "favorite")
My branch manager... no response (and a fair amount of management bollocks!)
My area manager....who'll 'get back to me' (& we all know what that means!!!)

Any suggestions?
seems they want me to work from 7.30 til 5 (or so...dinner time a maybe) but they only want to pay me for an 8 hour day.

The manager asked me 'where's my company spirit?' one time when i tried to claw some flexible hours back...I nearly punched him!!!

Any help would be a blessing. Thanks team.

By rights, your manager should see the benefits of putting you on a 42.5 hr week. Less overtime, less banked hours, less hassle for him.
He must be well short sighted if he can't see that. Your ATM should also see the benefits.
Keep trying, explain the benefits as you see them. Good luck!
