Reuters has just issued a news release stating that " Wolseley UK has concluded a deal to sell its Parts and Plumb Center brands to Saint Gobain, the French owner of Jewson and Graham brands in the UK.Details of the deal have just been released and staff will be called to regional meetings over the next 24 hours to be informed of the implications for the two brands. Wolseley has been experiencing serious problems in its North American oerations due to the credit crunch and the housing build slowdown, and recently posted disappointing financial results. The consideration has not been disclosed but his disposal is seen as a way of plugging a gap in Wolseley's current financing requirements. More details are expected to be released shortly. |
