HOCKEY UNPLUGGED – The second Wild Hockey Unplugged of the season will take place on Tuesday, October 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Champp's located at 8010 Glen Lane in Eden Prairie. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in an open 'mic' question and answer session and receive an autograph from Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Stephane Veilleux. WIVES OF THE WILD READING TOUR – Wives and girlfriends of Minnesota Wild players and management staff will participate in the Wives of the Wild Reading Tour, Tuesday, October 24 from 9:45-10:30 AM at 10 school throughout the Twin Cities. Wives and friends will be reading from Mary Shaw's “Brady Brady” collection of books at selected second grade classrooms throughout the metro area and will be donating to each school's library, on behalf of the Wild, the complete series of 10 “Brady Brady” books specially branded with the WILD LOGO. HOUSTON AEROS (1-5-0-1) – Roman Voloshenko scored twice in the shootout, and Dieter Kochan replaced an injured Josh Harding late in the third period and turned away Krys Kolanos in the seventh round of the shootout in Houston's 4-3 win at Grand Rapids on Saturday...Danny Irmen (1-1=2), Josh Olson and Benoit Pouliot also scored for the Aeros, who picked up their first win of the season and completed a five-game road trip...Harding, who has played more minutes and faced more shots than any other AHL goalie in the season's first three weeks, made 27 saves before leaving due to injury with six minutes remaining in regulation...Brendan Brooks and Ryan Oulahen scored 1:57 apart mid-way through the second period and Jimmy Howard made 24 saves, as the Grand Rapids Griffins held off the Aeros 2-1 at Van Andel Arena on Friday...Pouliot scored a power play goal and Harding made 37 saves...Houston hosts Hamilton on Friday and Peoria on Saturday to begin a four-game homestand…Pouliot leads the team in scoring with five points (4-1=5) and in goals with four...Irmen is tied for second on the team in scoring with four points (2-2=4)...Harding is 0-5-1 with a 2.97 GAA and a .903 save percentage. |
