I did not see the Wayne State series but they could not have been any worse a team than Ohio State was last night...terrible. It was one of those games where the Gophers pretty much did what they wanted, at-will, and dominated both ends of the rink. Once again the freshman class came through...nice to see Carmen get his first goal and Lucia his first assist. I really don't expect anything different from tonights game...except Frazee should get the start. Speaking of goaltenders, I thought Frank and Doug were giving too much attention last night on the issue of who the #1 is and how this series would not show much for making that decision. As far as I know there is no decision to make and Briggs is still the guy...it's up to Frazee to show that he is the top goaltender. I guess my question is what has changed to think that there is a change or should be a change? |

I'd guess with the way he played the 3 games while Briggs was out. He did well enough to get himself some more starts, but I don't see him as the #1 yet. |

He did play well, but the Maine game has been is only real test this season... I guess I am frustrated that this debate is even out there. I can see discussion on the net here and on our boards because there are different opinions out there...but when the broadcast team starting sniffing around this topic, I nearly lost it. It's pretty simple in my mind but apparently they wanted to stir on a debate about this. |

good game. Palmer is a MUCH better goalie than the one that played last night, but the Gophers still took it to him. Glad to see the freshman are really clicking. |

Yeah that is nice because now with the non-conference games out of the way, we really need them to contribute in the WCHA schedule. It was also nice to see the upper-classmen get things going as well...Vanelli had 4 assists and Hirsch added a goal and two assists. Overall I like the effort shown this weekend...they did what they were supposed to do and took care of business. Now the team has some momentum and confidence heading into the conference schedule. |
