No it's not, you are correct. The above is just a cut-n-paste from the notes I get emailed from the U...I'll make the change. |

My take...without a doubt, a sweep. They should have no problem with this series. |

You'd think so, but who would have thought Minnesota would have lost to Holy Cross last year? |

hey now, you can't go out and predict a sweep just because Wayne State isn't that good. Crazier things have happened such as the event previously mentioned With the large group of freshman and Frazee, you never know. Hopefully the freshman can bury the puck this weekend and Frazee can dominate and get a lot of confidence. |

Why not? Just about everybody in their right mind predicted the Gophers to beat Holy Cross didn't they? That game was a fluke...9 times out of 10 the Gophers win that game. And this is not the NCAA's yet so I would say that this prediction is much safer. |

it could be the same with this series too. 9 times out of 10, and Wayne State could get a win. I'm just saying, I'm cautiosly optimistic

I guess I am not getting your take on this...all I'm doing is predicting a sweep in this non-conference matchup...nothing more. Am I confident in that prediction? Absolutely. And I am sticking to that; the Gophers will win both games, 5-2 & 6-3. |

I'm confident the Gophers can beat them also, but the freshman class needs to finish or it might be a crazy weekend

I suppose it could be remember that freshman class did pretty well against a tough Maine team, and Wayne State is no Maine. |

Yes, they played well, but they weren't able to put the puck in the net. If you can't bury it, well, you won't score much  |

True, but remember, Maine has a team that was a Frozen 4 team last year and most everybody from that team returned this year, including a 6 foot 7 inch goalie who is very good. It's probably safe to say Wayne State doesn't have that good a goalie nor a team that went far into the playoffs last year. The Gopher freshmen did much better against Lethbridge, and the team has had one more week of practice together, so there's no reason to realistically think they won't do well this weekend. Too bad the games aren't on TV this weekend, it would have been fun to see the team play. |

2-0 after one...sounds like it will be a walk if they can keep it up. So no tickets this season goofy? |

Well, the young guys came through...by my calculations they had 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points out of 21 for the team. The Gophers out-shot the Warriors 41-10 for the game and held them to 0 in the third. Sounds like Wheeler had a break-out game as he netted 2 goals and an assist. Nice to see Hirsch get on the boards with 2 assists. Overall, kind of what I expected...a completely dominating performance by Minnesota. Now the trick will be to keep the team focused so that there is no let down tomorrow, although I don't think there will be, but is something that happens a lot following a game like this. |

I wish I could have seen this game...but the freshman came through again with Barriball and Okposo getting two goals apiece. And the power-play finally clicked for 3 goals and finished 3 for 11. Shots were again lopsided...50-23. I hope this is a bit of a confidence builder for the young guys...yes it was Wayne State but they handled them pretty easily so that in itself is something to go on. |

Disappointed I couldn't hear the Saturday game on the radio, but seems like things went fairly well for the boys. Good to see the freshman getting into the act early on in the season. |

Are you up in Huskie land again this year? I actually enjoyed the broadcast because I could hear it better on the FM...wish they had more games on that station. |
