What a nightmare.

Firstly the team arrive late, then we completely fail to get out of the blocks. By the end of the third quarter we were 48-73 down, indicating that this was a game where we really never got going.

I also read from the thread on the General BBL forum that Chad McKnight appeared to roll his ankle and sat out a lot of the game - please don't let this be an injury that sees him out of any future game. Does anyone have an update on this?

We've now lost 4 of our 5 away games - with the only win being at London Capitals. Hopefully next Friday will see a better road performance - but it's a tough ask at Sheffield who look very decent this season.

The only good news really is that we don't have to play Everton in the BBL Championship again this season.

Turning up late seems to be the big killer on these away games. Same thing happened at MK and as a result we took the first half to warm up. Sounds like the same thing happened in Everton.

Although having said that, in Leicester we played much better in the first half than the second. We went off boil during the break :pullhair :waiting

what was the reason for the teams late arrival???

not the only team to arrive late for a bbl game.

Does anger me that many are expecting alot from this years team .Its a whole rebuild on and off court we are lucky to have a club and a team with imports. We do however need a better bench.
One thing the team lacks is disipiline anyone that was at the riders away game will know that. I do think however chad and scants are doing a great job considering the circumstances

Away games have always been played over the week-end on various nights, it depends on the availability of the home venue. The important thing does appear to be that there is continuity for home venues, Jets regular home night of Sunday does seem to draw a bigger regular crowd than a Saturday game.
I agree that it is extremely difficult for away supporters to reach some venues week days but clubs have to fit in with other activities.

And if all games were played on a Saturday then clubs would only be at home every other week and the season would be be 10 months long, both of which would cost a lot ot money for clubs.

Midweek or Friday games are fine so long as it's feasible for the away team to have plenty of slack time built into their travel itinerary. If they can't for that fixture, then it's probably not a good idea for that fixture to be on a weekday. Heat should only really have midweek trips to the more local sides, such as London, Essex, MK or Worthing.

Having a long weekday journey, which of course includes rush hour, for a team with a journey in excess of 3 hours is asking for trouble.

thats the thing with BBL sadly and many other minor uk sports. Travel by road is the only way finances in no way would allow teams to fly. MK is not a easy place to get to on a friday traffic etc at that time. at least with the longer trips its usually better . I remember couple seasons ago on a saturday game the away team was delayed by an hour due to a major crash . so no one can predict the traffic etc these days. we just have to deal with it
