Last night's game day magazine featured an open and honest account of why we don't have an Assistant Coach and a bigger bench.

Like all Rocks fans I was hoping that some help could be found for Sterl and that a 'Big Man' could be added before the season got much older. However, we now have confirmation that a lack of funds means this is unlikely to happen. Not the news we were hoping for, but perhaps what we feared all along.

However, I would applaud the organisation for being honest and clarifying the position for the fans.

Deejay - I think "another body" (big man I hope) is still on the agenda, based on Sterling's Coach's Report in the same programme. This is another open and frank article, identifying that the process has "...dragged out for what seems like ever."

BWG's article refers to the principle of a bigger bench (beyond a centre, I hope) and an assistant coach.

Of course, your budget for a deep bench depends on what you pay the starters and sixth man :whistle

Carraig mor - I hope you are correct and we do see "another body" coming in.

Down to the coach how he spends his budget @ the end of the day.

Looking at the last 2 articles in the Glaswegian we are still trying to get a centre in.

Anybody else on here think there is no point in London being in the league - waste of money in my opinion.

And I feel like a broken record asking Sterl about the new centre. Two problems seem to be 1) who is available now that the season is up and running & 2) do these guys realise there is a recession on when presented with the financial package the Rocks can offer?

On a totally different matter, my number one critic has cost me a quid (gasp). Myself and a couple of the website boys have a wee betting pool which speculates as to how long it will take him to rate any Rocks article (which this fellow does without fail) that goes on the Glassy site as being worthy of one-star from the moment it is put up. :laugh

(psst - next Thursday, put your star on at 10:50am - we'll split the profits!! :wink )
Feel free to start off your own newspaper......
