Sounds a great game.

Did Eric play or did Ant come off the bench?

Eric played 20 mins or so, Ant played the rest off the bench and had 13 points 6 assists and 3 steals, Hornton was excellent and got MVP but I honestly feel Tino should have got MVP he was outstanding.

both teams only played 6 players each and i think the main reason Raiders won was because they where the fitter team down the stretch as a couple of Newcastle players are older and Bridge doesnt look in great shape, he was struggling as early as the 3rd Quarter,

great result by Raiders, hope this is the turning point.

How long before Ant starts and Eric is cut to enable us to sign a big man?

It would be wonderful to come on here one day, maybe after beating top of the league, and not have to read people moaning and cutting players. Cut the guys some slack KKK and say Well Done :time

2true Nickie!!

I recon the guy with the toughest job last night had to the one who chose the mvp !
All were mvp's in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for cuttin flat eric? no way!!

All we need is another big man to ease the pressure! (if we have the cash)

GO RAIDERS :clap

+1 Nickie.

With 3 mins to go you could see the shoulders dropping of Newcastle, and our guys were fighting all the way.

Might not need a big man once we get James back, lets wait and see. Eric and everyone played really well so cant see him being cut.

A fine weekend for all Plymouth teams.

Ain't British basketball great? If proof is needed, look at the title of your last two posts...1) Any hope (summary: everything is doom & gloom in the sea of green)...2) Raiders beat Newcastle (summary: everything is rosey in the garden...roll on next game).

I love this game

:clap

Hopefully, now there will be less moaning! Great win, Raiders - thanks for renewing the faith of those who needed it.

I take your point oldandgrey, but the doom and gloom merchants are the ones who are being unrealistic.

I think the bulk of us understand what this season is all about, it has been made harder at the moment by James's absence through injury.

But what a fantastic team performance yesterday, everyone really played to their absolute limit and gave everything they had.

I am really pleased for Gary and the players today, because at last it should be clear to everyone that not only are the new players individually skilled but that they also have an incredible work and team ethic.

I wasn't trying to stir anything up Old Russellian, just pointing out that this game has a way of changing when you least expect it. This season is fascinating and, looking from the outside, ok so yes, you've made a poor start, but you've only lost 2 games more than Newcastle!!!

I'm a glass is half full kind of guy I guess!

Hey who knows, you might still get home court advantage in the play-offs. This league is so wide open it's untrue...I couldn't even begin to guess at the order it will finish...hang on, I'll make one prediction...Caps won't win the league...other than that, I have no idea

Sorry oldandgrey, I wasn't having a pop and you are right again that this season is going to be full of ups and downs for all teams.

Even though I thought Milton Keynes looked very strong last Saturday - both physically and in depth of squad, I still find it hard to bet against Newcastle who have been there and done it so many times before.

FAN-tastic win for the Raiders and I for one will be happy if we don't win again this season as it was Newcastle, but lets hope not as I am sure there are many more to come. It was pretty touch and go when Ally panicked and threw the ball out of bounds!

Couldn't go yesterday so I can't comment on how Eric played but he's young, new to the league and definately has talent.
Last year Newcastle nursed Reggie Jackson through the first part of the season and see how he improved. I see no reason why we won't do the same with Eric.

Big well done to Gary and the boys on beating the best team in the country.

Nothing wrong with Eric he is a good player, Raiders are just better when Martin is bringing the ball up IMO, no need to get rid of him, he can still be an important player.

Great performance by everyone yesterday. We certainly seem to have a great team spirit this year so I'm sure Gary won't risk spoiling that by cutting anyone.
